Creaper..ugh...

So, today I was at lunch w/ my sister when my phone rang and it said "Private Number". I didn't answer, but as soon as I hit ignore they called back. I thought it might be Kelvin, so i answered.

When the person said Hello I knew exactly who it was and my heart stopped...not in a good way...it was this guy who I knew in high school. This guy and I were friends my Sr. year and his sophmore year. When I moved to college we lost  touch except that he would call often. He always made it very clear that he was interested in me in the past.

Over the years he would call every once in a while. A few years ago, when luke was really little, he pulled this same private number trick and freaked me out. Later I had to end up blocking him on FB b/c he kept messaging me and asking for my address!

I can't believe he is still bugging me! I've been out of HS for almost 10 years. He has reached creaper status!

Sorry i'm just ranting, but would you do anything about this?? I always just rush to get off the phone when he calls and then I'm mad at myself from not telling him to not bother me anymore b/c i'm married! This is jsust ridiculous! Will he continue to call me for the next 10 years?? I'm going to lose it on him.

Re: Creaper..ugh...

  • Just ask him to stop calling.  You have a husband and a family and you just aren't interested.  He obviously can't take a hint by you rushing off the phone.  Maybe add something to your vxm message and tell friends that calls from private numbers won't be answered unless a call back number is left.  If it still persists, and he continues to annoy him, tell him you will call the police and report him for stalking.  Do you by chance have a mutual friend with this guy that can pass this news on to him for you?  Are you fearful of your safety?

Ugh... I feel for you =(  That sucks.  I had a major stalker once... it wasn't pretty.  But i was terrified and he was able to find my number even tho I had it changed several times.  The police were eventually called in because I was at the stables alot with my horses by myself, and he had mentioned things he saw me doing that I only did there... so he knew where I was.  They tapped my phone and caught him and it stopped at a warning.  No charges were pressed.

    Good luck

  • Yikes. That is creepy and I'm not sure what I would do. I agree with Brandi - see if a mutual friend can tell him to leave you alone. If not, when he calls again, tell him straight up and then if he calls after that take it further.
  • Wow...that's super annoying and creepy!

I would definitely tell him to stop calling.  Well...okay, let's be honest, I probably wouldn't.  I would keep doing what you've been doing.  But you should tell him to stop calling.  I'm just too much of a chicken to point-blank tell someone that I don't want them to ever call me again.

Do you think that this guy actually is hoping to hook up with you or something, or do you think he's just socially awkward and doesn't realize that it's not "normal" to keep calling some girl you were friends with 10 years ago who obviously has moved on in her life?

  • How did he get your number?!  Make it clear to your family and friends that you do not want your phone numbers shared with anyone, ever.
  • He has my number bc I have the same cell phone number that I had 12 years ago. I guess he's held on to it all that time...

Like I said before, in theory I have no problem freaking out on him and telling him not to call. I am not at all worried about hurting his feelings. it's beyond that at this point. The problem is that the past 2 or 3 times that he's called it has literally shocked me to the point that I panic and rush to hang up. If he would happen to call me again very soon and I wasn't as shocked, i know I could tell him to leave me alone.

I honestly think that he is not 100% in touch with reality. I think that if he got ahold of my address he would show up here..and I honestly don't know what would happen. That would depend on a lot of things....but if he caugh be home alone I have this vision of him pushing his way into the house and raping me..unless I could fight him off, but he's like 6'4 and over 300 lbs, so I don't think I could do that...Maybe I'm being paranoid. There are a lot of what ifs there, but I think that's what would happen if all of those things lined up..

I know for a fact that another girl who we went to HS with had to call the cops b/c he kept showing up at her work and bothering her. She was also married, but he doesn't care.

He actually happens to be my BFF's 1st cousin. Their families don't really speak to one another, but if it would get bad enough I know that I could ask her dad to tell him to leave me alone. I might just go ahead and do it. BFF says that he ask her about me everytime they see each other ( a 2-3 times a year ), but that he didn't ask this year so she was hoping he finally forgot or didn't care...nope..not so lucky...

  • Could you call your cell phone company and have them block his phone number?  I would ask your friend's dad to tell him to leave you alone, or else.

I wouldnt take the chance of him being able to find your home and him showing up.  Especially since Kelvin leaves for work for days at a time, right?  That there would be enough for me to take action.

    GL!

  • Do you think I would have to know his number to have it blocked? He always calls from a privavte number. I don't think he could find my address b/c we don't have a house phone that is listed in a phone book and I'm very careful not to but it out there on FB...and he's blocked from my FB anyway.

I need to send my friend's dad a message though.
