You don't have to fast BEFORE you drink the magic potion do you?
I think last time I went in the morning, but that is impossible these days. So I was hoping to chug the drink before the end of the day and hit the lab on the way home.
Re: Glucose test question
I feel like you do have to fast and that's why I did it in the morning because I remember being super hungry while I waited. My doctors office also made me go there and drink the drink, then wait the full time there. So maybe they were just crabby about it!
My appt wasn't until the afternoon, like 1 or 2. I was told to eat a light breakfast and not eat anything after 11. But like PP said, call to check!
Same here - I believe. GL!
So my lunch of a turkey sandwich, apple, and whole bag of microwave popcorn proabably wasn't really fasting enough? hahaah
Maybe I'll see if they are open in the morning.
I feel like it was only an hour or 2 that I had to fast but I had to look at the sheet a million times that they gave me. I know it seems to vary by OB.
with my one hour test, I did not fast, drank the magic potion and was seen an hour later for labs.
my 3 hour I had to fast so that is the one I did first thing in the morning.
For the one-hour, you don't have to fast...just avoid overly-sugary/carb-heavy meals right before it. Once you drink the drink, you can't have anything else until after the test.
