So after having my flight to Nashville cancelled yesterday and the stress of rebooking, I am now comfortably relaxing in our hotel room while DH is working a bit. I had a couple funny/interesting/AW things I wanted to share:
1. On my connection from Atlanta to Nashville last night there was suddenly a commotion among the travelers and the lights all came on. I was a little scared for a bit until I started hearing people talking about a cat. Then a guy gets up and is trying to catch his cat, which took awhile. The poor thing looked scared to death when he finally got ahold of it. We all clapped after he'd captured it. I'd never had a loose animal on a flight before!
2. There are Aveda products in our hotel bathroom.
3. We got into the Pancake Pantry after only a 10-minute wait this morning. This is a very popular restaurant and their famous quote is "Snow, Rain or Shine...there's always a line." Last year we waited for 45 minutes to eat there. We were pleasantly surprised this morning! If you guys every come to Nashville I highly recommend going here for the delicious pancakes! I've also heard the local celebs come there often.
And lastly, DH is taking me out to a fancy dinner tonight in honor of Valentine's Day at a swanky nightclub in The Gulch where we tried to get in last year with no success. Kid Rock lives in this neighborhood, as well as, some other country celebs I can't remember so maybe we'll get lucky tonight! Have a great weekend everybody!
Re: 3 fun facts
1. OK, so I was literally giggling out loud while reading about the cat. Poor little buggar. That's hilarious though.
2. Um, NICE! I like to use Aveda products, but don't buy them often.
3. Pancake Pantry, duly noted.
4. Woo hoo for fancy dinners and swanky nightclubs. I don't go out like I used to, and this sounds like fun! I'm making MH take me out the last weekend in Feb. for an adult evening where I plan to get dressed up. :-)
I think it's so funny how sometimes the best restaurants have the worst names. Pancake Pantry?? Sounds like a dump! But obviously that's not the case. And ohhhh that poor kitty, loose on a plane! I bet he/she was scared to death.
Have fun on the rest of your trip! Are you there for business or pleasure?
LOL, it certainly isn't the nicest restaurant, either. Just REALLY good food. DH is here for business, I'm tagging along for pleasure.
However, half his work is entertaining his clients so we will likely be going bar-hopping tonight and tomorrow. These are the times that make up for DH being gone so much for work.
We do this, too!
It is a nice perk.
