I hope they are able to find daycare's quickly but that is a lot of kids displaced at once.

Exactly - I have worked at a large center before and those employees must be in shock. I got the impression that the center had known for a while that they were having financial problems. Just really sad they didn't give more of a notice. I have been looking for children to watch from my home and can't imagine ever doing this - especially without notice.

I saw this yesterday. I'm not sure what I would do. I think they have more than the one location though. If she did know for a while, she should have at least given them a heads up, that it was a possibility

That is awful for everyone involved. So many displaced people, and it is really disrespectful to close on such short notice.

I kind of understand my former employer being to lenient on unpaid fees - they got money from every government pot out there and served the low income who were mostly paid for by subsidy.

I don't understand a private business like that not dropping children who's parents were so far behind in payments that the center had no money. Poor business management.

My co-worker takes his 2.5 year old son to that daycare. Just found out yesterday that it was closing when he got the letter when he went to get his kid. He said he went to pick his son up yesterday and it was complete chaos. The news was there and some of the staff were crying. He just grabbed his kid and got him out of there because the kid was so freaked out by everything happening.

Luckily they've already gotten another daycare lined up to look at.

Wow, that is truly sucktastic. We kind of went through this when our provider dropped us, but at least we had over a month's notice and weren't competing with 219 other kids for open spaces. How stressful for the parents, awful for the staff, and sad for the kids!

I'm sure it was chaotic - I can't even imagine :-(. 40 people without jobs too - its really sad. Glad they got a daycare interview lined up!
