Re: The Friday Five
1. I really want to get into either knitting or crocheting. Also cake decorating.
2. No time.
3. Sometimes. Everything costs money and sometimes I feel guilty spending on things (hobbies) that aren't necessary when we could be saving for more practical things.
4. My photography hobby does
5. Yes
2. Why did you not pursue these hobbies? They're just always a million other things I have to do today. Plus, I'm lazy.
3. Do you often feel limited by your financial state with how you spend your free time? Not really. None of these hobbies would cost a great deal. My expensive hobby is travel.
4. Do your hobbies play a major part of your life, or help define who you are? I travel every time I get a chance, but Idk if that "defines" me. My other hobbies are more domestic, decoration, cooking, scrapbooking.
5. Do you have any hobbies you have made income from? Not unless you count tutoring.
1. What are some hobbies you would like to try, but haven't done so? several, but photography is the most thought-of one
2. Why did you not pursue these hobbies? it seems hard! there's lots of equipment involved that I know nothing about. I regret not taking photography in high school
3. Do you often feel limited by your financial state with how you spend your free time? not really. Some of my hobbies are expensive but I feel they're worth the money, so as long as I don't go overboard it's ok. I tend to splurge when people give me money as a gift, and then hold back for a while.
4. Do your hobbies play a major part of your life, or help define who you are? definitely. I bring knitting everywhere I go, and I knit all the time.
5. Do you have any hobbies you have made income from? When I was a teenager I sold a lot of stuff, but mostly it was to my mom's friends who thought I was cute. These days my hobbies turn into gifts, which saves me from purchasing gifts. If I did start selling things, it wouldn't be a significant part of my income, just enough money to buy more supplies
You just bought a DSLR right?
I could point you in the direction of some good online tutorials and books that would get you started. Anytime you need advice/tips or anything like that, I'd be glad to help.
2. Why did you not pursue these hobbies? Time. I'm pretty busy in general. Also the equipment and lack of work space. But I do try new things here and there.
3. Do you often feel limited by your financial state with how you spend your free time? No. Art supplies are expensive, but $40 can set me up for a good while when painting. Also, doing crafts or paper things. I did book binding and it was really fun. You invest some here and there, and just run with it. I love putting things together.
4. Do your hobbies play a major part of your life, or help define who you are? I think being creative is a huge part of who I am. It is an area of strength for me and I try to apply it to multiple areas in my life.
5. Do you have any hobbies you have made income from? Wedding planning? haha. Painting, calligraphy. Most things I do for gifts, not really to turn a profit.

1. What are some hobbies you would like to try, but haven't done so? Photography for sure, and traveling would be great.
2. Why did you not pursue these hobbies? well getting a good camera and traveling the world is super expensive,
3. Do you often feel limited by your financial state with how you spend your free time? no, I read alot and Matt is obssessed with a lot of TV shows, so we watch a lot of that. However, most of my free time would be spent shopping if I had more money... so maybe?
4. Do your hobbies play a major part of your life, or help define who you are? absolutely, I'd go crazy without keeping up with things I love to do for myself. I think most things you do by choice helps define who you are. Plus my job sure doesn't do that, so something has to.
5. Do you have any hobbies you have made income from? Nope, my crafts are enough to make me happy, but I doubt they are good enough to sell.
I think it's a DSLR, yes. It's this one . The only other thing I have is a small tripod, but I want to get a better light set up for food photography. I don't even know what else I'd need. I'd love some online tutorials, thanks!
