  • He says no layoffs. So. That is the good news. I will keep my job...I'm just not sure where I will be. I work so closely with the other programs at SPO.

  • I am going to think positively here (although that is completely out of character for me) and suggest that this means that you are going to have a way more awesome job come January 2012.

  • Ugh, it is total suckage to be displaced, despite the fact that you will still have a job.   Hopefully it's something you are familiar and comfortable with!  A reduction-in-force(RIF) is pretty imminent here...we had one last year, too.  I hate knowing some of the first year teachers will be out of a job, and I also think it would stink to have to be put in an entirely different grade or subject area even if I did have the certification to teach it!  Last year we had a case where a high school art teacher was suddenly teaching a day at the primary level.   Yikes!  2 different worlds!

    Good luck!  Sorry!

    I like this plan best!

  • well the good news is that you still have a job.  But being in limbo sucks.  GRRR....

  • Oh, I'm sorry.  Long-term uncertainty stinks.  Like the others, I hope that everything ends up better.  If it makes you feel better, almost every time we have a new Comptroller General of the U.S., our agency has a major reshuffling in divisions and it affects what you work on and who you work with.  But, most people tell me these things usually work out better than expected (the current CG switch is the first I'm going through).  I hope it's the same for you!
  • Lame. It's good you will still have a job, but the uncertainty of what exactly you will be doing and where is no fun to deal with. :(
  • Well, gee, it sure is good the state spent all that money moving your office just in time to eliminate it.

This sucks; I'm sorry.  I prefer to think like Kristen and say that you'll have a totally awesome new job/new adventure in January, but I agree with other pps that the limbo and unknown factor really blows.
