S/O Locking your car doors

I lock my doors when I get in the car PRIOR to opening the garage door.

I have this fear that someone is going to be waiting to rob/kill me when I back out of the garage. Yes, I have issues.

Re: S/O Locking your car doors

  • I park in the driveway and I'm scared someone might be hiding in the yard waiting to get me. H leaves for work before me and I would be an easy target. If I forget something and have to run back inside I lock the deadbolt when I go in to get what I need.

  • The absolutely very first thing I do after I sit in my car is lock all the doors/make sure they're all locked.  That's regardless of where the car is - our closed garage, the driveway, a parking lot, the curb, etc.
  • 4-8-06, I do the exact same thing. And I watch the garage door close once I pull out to make sure no one sneaks in to rob/kill DH.

  • When I get out of my car I lock the doors from the inside then I also hit the button so it honks. That way others know it is locked as well if they are watching. I am not scared of people doing anything to me though.

  • You're all crazy. Stick out tongue

Seriously though, I do the same thing. I'm totally paranoid. I lock the front door behind DH when he runs to the store for a few minutes, or even sometimes if he goes to get the mail. He doesn't like that so much...

  • Glad to know I am not the only crazy.
  • LOL, you are all paranoid.  Or maybe I'm not because I grew up where all you had to worry about were the cows and coyotes.  My parents don't even lock their house.

This, and I put on my seat belt.  Also, my car has this great feature where it automatically locks the doors when it gets to 9 MPH, for those rare times I forget to lock the doors as soon as I get in.  DH's car doors are never locked when we're in the car, so I lock them and he glares at me.
