F/U USPS probs

I went to USPS last night to pick up my missing DVD.  I gave them my info (name & address) and they came back with a small package for Tom Hakley (or something). Hmmm, not my name or my address.

She went back to look around and came back with a huge box that had my name on it.  It wasn't the DVD but it was the lost coat I ordered back in November (hello, 2.5 mo. ago) that USPS had told me was never received by them and to check with the side.  So since the store had already sent me out a second coat, I now have 2.  I'll be calling the store's corprate office to see how to return the coat and also to file a formal complaint on shipping w/USPS (the store recently switched to using them as a shipper instead of UPS).

I look up the tracking # for the DVD and give it to the woman.  She searches 20 minutes and can't find it.  She tells me to call back tomrw and ask for CS.

I go home excited about the missing coat but bummed about the DVD.  I search all around the mailbox and push away snow and can't find anything.  Then I happen to look up...remember from my Digs pics how the front door really goes up to the unit above us?  Well there was the DVD package, sitting at the front door. I feel bad about making a fuss about the package at PO (even though I was nice/pleasant about it).  But I'm p!st that the girls upstairs didn't bring it down to the mailbox or even to the entrance door of my apt.  I always take items delivered to us up to them.  I mean really, why would I ever go up to the front door otherwise?

Anywho, happy to report I have both the missing coat and DH's vday gift (in time!).

  • Woooooooooow. I can't believe you went through that just to find out USPS had your coat all along, and the stupid girls upstairs were just too lazy to bring you the CD.

At least you have everything though.

haha, yes.  I told my sister that I honestly don't think I'll ever send a package USPS again if I have the option.

But now I still have the pain in the but of trying to figure out how to return the coat to the store since they already sent me a second.  I feel like it's weird to walk in and say, I'd like to return this b/c I didn't really pay for it. lol
