Sooooo, I took Dr. Loretta's advice. I gave my notice to my immediate manager and to HR.
Me: Here are ________ (returning items belonging to firm). And here is my two-weeks notice.
Manager: Uh. Did you find another job?
Me: I did.
Awkward silence.
Manager: We're sorry to see you go.
Me: (eyes roll out of my head and onto the floor in my mind) Thank you.

My exit interview has already been scheduled. All is good. I think.
I have not spoken to my Director. She has not even reached out to me. Is this weird? I keep hating her more and more. I know it's petty, but she is the primary reason why I'm leaving. UGH!
I have got to let this roll off my back. This job has been so stressful.
Re: f/u: Suck it, Suckas!
I'm totally not stalking you, but earlier this week I was wondering"Hmm, I wonder if ClaireHux got that job she interviewed for awhile ago?" And then, just now, I was bored on ML, and trying to avoid writing my performance review and clicked on 9 to 5, and here's your update...
Congratulations! I know how much of a relief it is to escape a toxic situation. I would love to be a fly on the wall in your exit interview! Well, only if you're going to be honest:-).
Don't worry, I'm working on it.
Get it on!
Lol. I like the title of this post.
Congrats on the new job and leaving one you hate! I know how much of a relief that must be. FWIW, I quit my last job for similiar reasons (an awful supervisor) and he never reached out to me either, even after I put in years of hella hard work. I wasn't surprised though, and I don't think it's out of the norm for some people. Just keep your head held high and don't let it get to you.
Good luck with the new job!
congrats, claire! i'm so happy for you!
what will you be doing now?
i think it's unprofessional that your director hasn't spoken to you about your departure, but i'm not surprised (most of the managerial folk i have worked with are totally inept when it comes to dealing with people). i'm sure she/he is just bitter
I'm so happy you got the job! I guess this means they gave you the official offer. It was so awkward quitting my last job, too. My boss basically gave me the silent treatment until I left. Just don't worry about it, you're only going to be there 2 more weeks
Congrats on the new job and giving notice!

Yes, I finally got the formal offer! I don't know why I'm still so bothered, but you are all right, I'll just let it go.
Don't worry, I'm working on it.
Get it on!
Claire!
I missed the formal offer!!! CONGRATS!
