I have permanent marker on my one cotton shirt. I am trying to get it out.
I have already tried soaking it in vinegar and washing it in salt water, it helped, very little.
What else do you suggest?

Ethanol the higher the proof /% the better. I normally use 100%, but that is hard to find outside of the lab, to remove stuff I get on my clothes at work.
Rubbing alcohol sometimes works, but it depends on the marker - usually works on sharpie, but can spread the stain a bit.
Hairspray
Oxyclean.
Cancer sucks.
Nail polish remover is good at getting permanent marker off hard surfaces; I don't know what it does to clothes, though.
