Best way to "sweep" dog hair off tile...

I would love to hear suggestions on the most efficient way to remove dog hair from my tile floor. I have Dyson for the carpeted areas, but most of my home has tile. I already have the dog shaved down and de shed, I use a furminator and currently use just a regular broom and dust pan. BUT, it seems like there's always dog hair left behind. The Dyson is total overkill on tile. What do you use?

  • I have a Hoover stick vacuum that I use on the tile areas. It works a lot better than the dust pan and broom did but you will always find dog hair! The only down fall of pet ownership - you can run but you can never hide from the globs of hair!!!

  • I bought a rubber broom and it picks up hair like nothing!  The rubber bristles really grab ahold of it.  I have only tile and hard wood and we actually bought another broom for my dh for the garage.
  • I prefer to use a canister vac on tile. We had a Shark and when it died we got a Miele. We have an upright for the one carpeted room in our house and use the canister for the rest of the house which is wood and tile.
  • I use our Dyson on hard floors mostly (we have carpet upstairs, but we also have a different vacuum upstairs, my Dyson is used on hard floors 95% of the time).  My Dyson has a button for hard floors that stops the brush from spinning.  Other that that, I would use a Swiffer or similar that has a microfiber pad to pick it up.  When I'm trying to get every last speck of dust or dog hair, I'll sometimes vacuum or sweep, AND  go over it with a microfiber pad (I have a Swiffer and a Rubbermaid Reveal that had a MF pad).  I think those are just the joys of owning a pet.  GL.
  • Take an old fleece blanket (or whatever) and cut it into the size of a Swiffer cloth.  Put the fleece blanket on the Swiffer and then use it.  It works amazingly!

  • I always vacuum...sweeping is futile! LOL

  • Thank you for all the tips. I ended up getting a rubber mop and I just got it today. I tried it, and so far so good. I also found a way of fitting the Swiffer Sweeper pads into the Swiffer WetJet I already have, so between the two I should be in good shape. *and* I got a steam mop, too. My floors should be spotless now!
