Vacuum cleaner recommendations?!
Hi! I'm new to this board. I was just wondering what vacuum cleaner you would recommend. DH and I are probably going to pick up a new one soon. Right now we just have some cheapo Eureka we got when we first were married. I really want to get the Animal Dyson but I don't know if they are worth it and if they will last.
What kind of vacuum do you have? Do you like it?
What are some features you look for when shopping for a new vacuum?
Sorry these are all silly questions but I've never spent a good amount of money on one before and I'm tired of the cheapo ones lasting only a couple years (if we're lucky) and then having to buy a new one.

We got the Dyson Animal Ball for Christmas this past year and we LOVE it. Not sure what kind of dog you have, but we have a black lab who is constantly shedding, at least it seems that way. It picks up all of her hair and dander....our carpets have never looked cleaner!!

We have the Dyson Animal. We used DH's birthday money and left over wedding gift cards to BB&B to purchase it as a Birthday/Valentine's Day gift and our only regret is that we didn't do it sooner! I couldn't believe the stuff it got up that our other vacuum didn't. We have a lot of animals and I used to have to use powders and scrub to get the hair out of the carpet - now the Dyson sucks it right up. We fight over vacuuming now - because we both want to do it.
