For those of you that plan your meals for the week ahead...
Do you plan your menu and then go grocery shopping or do you plan your menu based on what you have?
I'm really thinking I need to start doing this because I hate hearing "What's for dinner" each night and I've been so exhausted from work lately that thinking of something to cook is just so exhausting on my way home.
TIA!

i do a little of both. i see what we have, loosely menu plan and make a list before going to the grocery store but i'm definitely lazier while i'm not working.
i try to always have the ingredients for cruisindiva's orzo with parmesan & basil and a quick tomato sauce (better still is having sauce in the freezer already). those are my go-to "what's for dinner?" plans when i'm feeling lazy.
any crock pot meals you could add into the rotation to make life easier? or cooking ahead on the weekends?
I do a little of everything mentioned above. I try to leaf through cookbooks or favorite blogs to find new things for the week and I go from there. We also make a BJ's trip every couple of weeks for meat and such as well. Like Cheeky I am a big fan of having stuff in the freezer , for example last night I made a huge batch of meatballs and froze them so we have them as we want. I also try to use whats in the house too.
Oh and the crackpot is my friend. Totally my bff. :-) We also do 1-2 nights of leftovers but thats just because I have a hard time cooking for 3 people and always over cook.
Good luck!
