*Dannielle* or other moms

Where did you get your maternity clothes from? I ordered some from Old Navy but haven't gotten them yet. And I just bought a pair of jeans from Target but I'm not crazy about how they fit (they're 100 times more comfortable than my regular jeans though and I was desperate!) I've heard good things about Motherhood Maternity but I also don't want to drop a fortune on clothes I'll only wear for a few months.

Re: *Dannielle* or other moms

  • Dude - the motherhood (destination maternity?) "secret panel" (full panel) jeans are amazing.  For real.

I was anti-maternity jeans with my first pregnancy up until almost 25 weeks because I could not for the life of me find anything actually comfortable - but these?  Yeah totally perfect.  Not only the belly panel stretches, but the entire jean is pretty stretchy - I have been really happy with them.  If I go anywhere I wear them (unless I am in a dress, which is rare this time around because I've been pg in the winter vs summer last time).  They aren't crazy expensive either (if you get the destinaton/motherhood brand, the pea in the pod brand can be pricey) and I think I actually only spent like $25 on each pair when I bought them in 2009.  So yeah... at least try them on if you have a store near you.

Otherwise I live in nike yoga pants or my new current love (which I just bought this morning and am like WOAH these are the best lounge pants ever) old navy foll over waist yoga pants.

ETA:  I don't know why I thought you only asked about pants/jeans.  Anyway for shirts I seriously wear a lot of non-maternity shirts.  Old Navy's maternity sizing I find to run really big so when I have ordered online, I order a size down.  But for the most part I wear a lot of non maternity or nursing-style tops that way I know I will get use out of them after the baby arrives.
  • I'm no help.  I didn't buy any maternity clothes.  The only thing I bought was a Be Band from Target.  It held up my pants once I couldn't wear my belt anymore, and covered any gap between the bottom of my shirt and top of my pants. I should have bought more than 1 color, but I only got the white one.

I stopped into Motherhood Maternity but they don't carry any plus size stuff.  I didn't bother looking online since I managed fine with the clothes I had.

  • Everything I got was Target online, Old Navy online, or JCPenney online. Plus size is annoying.
  • I have gotten some off of ebay, some work pants from Gap and some tops from Motherhood. I went to a really small motherhood and was not impressed with their prices or selection. I've been trying to buy everything on sale too, I hate the thought of paying full pricce for things that aren't going to be worn for very long. I'm finding that I have a lot more luck shopping on-line (and only when I get free shipping) than going into stores, most of the time the selection sucks.

  • All of my shirts were from old navy and target.  I got my pants from kohls and boscovs.
  • I bought a pair of jeans from Gap and borrowed a pair of jeans from Motherhead Maternity (which were by far my favorite - I will absolutely buying a pair for myself if I get PG again)...  Yoga pants and work pants from old navy, some work pants from Motherhood - then shirts I got at Target and Old Navy.  Good luck!

  • I am a huge fan of Jcpenny's. Very affordable and always on sale..

  • Motherhood Maternity has some good sales. They were having one a few weeks back so I bought some spring/summer maternity clothes from there for really inexpensive and they are too big now but I think they will fit well.

  • I got stuff on ebay, and a lot from Gap Maternity, Motherhood Maternity, and Target.  Most of the stuff from Gap and Motherhood was on clearance.
  • A friend lent me a bunch of clothes.  I picked up some stuff from Motherhood Maternity, Old Navy & Gap.  My jeans got snug towards the end so I went to Goodwill and got a few pairs for a great price!

  • Anything maternity I've bought from Old Navy.  However, I only bought 3 pairs of maternity jeans and one maternity leggings and everything else are just dresses and skirts that I know can stretch pretty well w/ a big belly.  I am lucky though since it will be warm enough to wear dresses and skirts soon.

  • I got my jean capri's from Kohls and loooove them.  So comfy but 40 bucks.  Maybe 40 isn't much to some but when it comes to jeans I am a tigh wad and knew I'd only be wearing them for a few months but I got my monies worth.

Pretty much everything else I won off of ebay and some had tags on like Gap Maternity Dresses.

Destination Maternity was super expensive for what I thought you got.

I did get a few things from Target but again thought it was expensive.  I bought this dress for my baby shower that was 40 and tried it on last night and that sucker fits and looks great (its stretchy) so I could've easily bought a stretchy dress in the regular section for 20.  Actually I wore many of my dresses that were free flowing.
