FREAKY airplane moment

i made it back to guam!! 26 hours in the air or airport was... *fun* ;) it seriously reminds a person just HOW FAR AWAY i am here in guam!!

ANYWHO so while i was on the longest leg of the flight yesterday, everyone around me was sleeping peacefully when all the sudden, 3 rows behind me, i hear this HIGH pitch SCREAM 4x (AHHH AHHH AHHH AHHH) someone was i guess having a bad dream.  everyone turned around and the person sitting next to them woke them up.

it FA-REEEEEEEAKED me out so bad, my heart still races thinking about it.

have you ever had any freaky airplane (or public transportation) moments?

Re: FREAKY airplane moment

  • geez that is a long time and scary!

When I was a senior in high school we traveled to Cuba on a religious visa.  DH (boyfriend at the time) and I went with our Youth Group.  We flew to Mexico and took a small plane from Mexico to Cuba. We had terrible turbulence over the gulf the sides of the plane were flexing where the wings connected and at one point the flight attendants were serving drinks and all the sudden ran to the *** pit and closed the doors in a rough patch.  We thought we were going to crash into the ocean.

  • That would be scary!  I once woke up on a flight to someone shouting for help...I can't remember now what the problem was, but his wife had some sort of medical emergency.  The flight attendants were able to take care of it (and I think they did the whole "Is there a doctor on the plane?" thing), and we didn't have to have an emergency landing or anything.  But it definitely made my heart pound when that person first started shouting!

  • When I was in High School, I went to Spain for my Spanish class.  We flew to NYC fine, then when we got on the plane from NYC to Spain, all of our seats were thru out the plane, none of us were sitting together.  Right before takeoff, this guy got up on his seat and stood, yelling "Parte negro" and pointing at someone in front of him.  The person he was pointing at was in my group, it was a girl older than me and she was not "parte negro" she was just super tan.  It was crazy!  They told the guy he had to calm down or he would be escorted off.  He calmed down and the flight went smoothly after that.  Obviously he was foreign!  This was definitely pre 9/11!

I couldnt imagine being on a plane that long!

  • When I was 16 me, my mom, her good friend, and her daughter went to Seattle for a week. Flying over there the flight was fine. Coming back home the flight was HORRIBLE the weather was really bad at take off and once we got in the air it got even worse. People actually started using their air sick bags so all around you heard people throwing up. During the entire flight we had to keep our seatbelts on and the flight attendents had to sit in their seats with their seat belts on. Things got even worse and were were told we were going to have to make a emergency landing. Once we landed they cancelled our flight and we had to spend the night in CO.
