Getting my 1st Brazilian - ??s inside
Can I get it done during my lunch break? or is that just stupid?
I'm trying to surprise DH, so when I can schedule it is limited.
I've heard 48 hours after getting it before intimacy. Is that true?
Anything else I should know?
TIA!
BTW - I've had a bikini wax before, just never a Brazilian. So only concerned about the, ahem, extra tenderness from normal.
Re: Getting my 1st Brazilian - ??s inside
Hi there, I am brazilian and I do it myself at home... so here we go!
Do it at least 12 hours before getting any intimacy because the area will be a little red and it can be painful when done for the first time.
Usually it doesn't cause any problem - I have done it and had intercourse at the same night.
You can help it using a normal ointment like Neosporin = to prevent any skin infection that may occurs.
Good luck, and please DON'T give up because of the pain!!!
i'm sure it varies among women. i would suggest you allow about 24 hours before your big reveal to the DH; that way you can observe how your skin reacts to the treatment and know that, if any irritation develops, it is not due to intimacy. since this is your first one, i would NOT recommend doing it over your lunch hour. it will probably be quite tender for the first hour or two at least. if you have an office job, you're not going to want to be sitting at your desk, possibly cross-legged, for hours afterwards. i think it's important to let the area breathe a little by wearing loose-fitting clothing (deffo no hose).
i get a full brazilian every 4-6 weeks. i always wear cotton undies for the event, and usually in the boy-short style. i don't like my skin being pinched or pressured after. at the beginning, i scheduled waxings for the end of the day, so i could come home and just wear undies and yoga pants or whatnot around the house--breathable, loose bottoms. now that i work from home and am used to the procedure, it doesn't matter as much.
try not to drink any caffeine the day of your appointment; for whatever reason, it makes you more sensitive.
exfoliate with a loofah a few days leading up to and after the waxing. you want to eliminate as much dead skin as possible beforehand. exfoliating after is important because it helps prevent ingrown hairs.
this is going to hurt a lot your first time. the bits on the top are the worst, IMO. the inside bits and the back don't hurt as much as you'd think, surprisingly. hopefully your esthetician will help calm you down and encourage you to exhale when she pulls off the wax. but even though it hurts, you are not dying and the pain is SO worth it.
if you like the results, try to make waxing a regular thing. the pain DRAMATICALLY decreases if you do not shave between waxings. the hair grows back finer and slower each time.
a word about salons: don't go cheap on this service! the best places i've been to use two different types of wax. the yellow kind that gets paper pressed over it for the bigger areas, and a purple kind for the smaller nooks and crannies. the best places i've been to also follow up with tweezers after to be sure they did a thorough job. speak up if you aren't happy!
good luck! i am sure the DH will be pleased.
I agree, keep going back if you like the results it hurts less if you go back every 4 weeks or so.
I haven't had one in over 2 months because I broke my foot and couldn't bend my knee with my cast, I'm not really looking forward to my pain of my next one this week.
Take 2 advil or the like a hour before hand.
If you can find a salon with the hard wax go that way for sure! It hardens and does nto use strips, it does not rip your skin off, just the hair.

I'm going to go with others and say doing it on your lunch break...not a good idea, I'm going on my 3rd full brazilian wax here this month, and the first time hurt like a mother...****er but the second i knew what to expect and went to a place with the purple wax ( the one they don't use the muslin strips for) and it didn't hurt other then then the lower middle, and the sides....but again it was only for like maybe an hour of of pain if that.
I would say call and see what time they have open, as far as valentines day i would do it maybe a day or two before....seeing you wont want it to be touch for a day or so....
After getting mine done it's about a night before we get it on...just because i've got really sensitive skin and the rubbing can cause pain.
the "back side" doesn't really hurt....you might feel odd...do to the way they make you lay...but it's really the easiest part of the wax . just remember to exhale as there pulling off.
let us know how it goes and GL
So, I think it's totally a matter of preference. Your first time will hurt so much, but like everyone says, it gets way better over time. I personally prefer the regular wax for my brazilians. It seems to get more of the hairs, is a little quicker, and doesnt hurt as much as the hard wax. I've been doing this regularly for 10 years now and just went to a different waxer who was using the hard wax and it was really painful, but that's just me. I love the hard wax on my face, though. It may be easier for you to use regular wax your first time...but that's just my opinion.
Good luck! And remember to breathe!!!
I have been getting brazillians once every 4-6 weeks since the week of my wedding almost 3 years ago! The best secret anyone told me was, lotion the ENTIRE area the morning of going, it helps the hairs be removed and cause less pain. I then found out on my own that using baby lotion helps even more! (not sure why that is) My friends even take advil or some kind of pain relief before going but I do not do that. So my advice is LOTION everything that will be getting waxed, it will feel funny but worth it! As for time frame, depends on how sensitive your skin is, Im usually ok and would do it on a lunch break, but when I was pregnant I guess I was extra sensitive and the entire area swelled and became very red for 12 hours (not very comfortable at all!) So maybe give yourself sometime to learn how your body will react and then next time you can sneak in on your lunch break!
In addition to what everyone else said...
I found a product called 'No Scream Cream' I bought it before my first BW. It was awesome, I have had them pretty regularly now, but it sure helped.
Also - Like a few other posters said on here... don't skimp on where you go... I did once and it was the worst mistake ever.
Good luck!
ABSOLUTELY makes sure the salon has hard wax. we're talking HUGE difference here. you MUST have hard wax!!! soft = pain!
yes, take the meds right beforehand and have a glass of wine if possible
don't put any lotions on after and certainly don't use any sort of exfoliating body wash for at least 48 hrs. you could be intimate that night with no issues (i didn't have any, anyways). GL & Have Fun

I think you could def get it done on your lunch break! It takes me 48 hours to have sex after I get it done and I could NEVER do it my self. More power to the chick that can! She muct not have the thick jew-fro I have!! Haha! I could not get it done on MY lunch break only because I have a very physical job but if you work behind a desk then you should be fine!
If you have had a bikini wax before I think you should be fine. To me the "brazilian" part of the wax is the part that hurt the very least. It's the bikini part that hurts lol
