Another Momma ?

Do you give your LO nakey time? I saw on the August page that some of then give their LO"s nakey time each day, did you do this and is the really any reason to do it. I can't seem to think of any reason!

Re: Another Momma ?

  • My niece had what we called "panty girl" time when she got out of diapers... all she wanted to do was run around in her panties. At nearly nine, she still does this. As soon as she gets home from school, she wants to get to her room so she can "be a panty girl".

Totally not the same thing or much to do with the question, but it made me think of that. I'll blame these percocets... they make me feel funny.

  • No as a baby we didn't do it, I guess I never really thought of doing it. I don't know if it is medically suggested, but I really don't see why it would be necessary to do. With that being said, Bella started potty training a few weeks ago, so she loves the new freedom that comes with that and not havinf a diaper on. So maybe it makes the baby happy to feel free?

  • We most certainly do not because he pees anytime his diaper is off for more than 2 minutes.

Only once did we want to give him time without a diaper when he was about 4-5 months and we laid a towel down and let him lay on that (back when he couldn't go far).

  • Summer, that's what I'm afraid of! Even if I do put a towel down I'd be afraid it go through to the carpets.  I guess they just do it because their LO's like it.
  • We have not and will not being giving Xander naked time. He pee's whenever his diaper is off him for longer than a diaper change. Recently I didn't get Xander into the bathtub fast enough after removing his diaper and he peed on the floor. Xander now showers with Andrew on the weekends and the first thing he does when he walks into our shower stall is pee. Yup...he's all boy.

  • i usually let z party with her pants off after a bath.  she loves being naked and is pretty good about not peeing so putting her diaper on is usually the last thing i do.  i dry her good, brush her hair, give her a massage with lotion, now i clean and twirl her earrings, put powder in her neck crease, put her onesie on (unsnapped of course), and then i put her diaper on.  we always joke that is she's being a crank all we have to do is strip her down.

  • It's definitely risky, but Jacob usually have a few minutes diaper-free before and/or after his bath. Before he bath, he stands next to the tub and watches it fill up. Of all the times we've taken off his diaper early, he's peed maybe 3 times.  But it's in the bathroom, so we can clean and sanitize easily on the tile. After his bath, he has a few minutes before we get his diaper on -- he's just so easily tickled and smooched naked that we wind up playing with him, then realize that he should probably be diped soon and toss his diaper on him. He hasn't had an accident on the carpet. Yet. ::knocks on wood::

I think it's good for his skin to have some undiapered time.

  • we do after every bath, and only these past few days after one of his diaper changes.  He seems to like being naked!  And our pedi even suggested it as well, to give the skin a chance to breath and prevent diaper rash.
  • No, Ryan would just pee everywhere! But we do take our time getting him dressed after bath time. He loves to just be in a diaper!
