Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
I went to grab a snack and came back to an email from her. Here it is:
"Lindsay,
I deleted the entire post. I'm so embarrassed and very sorry. I'll definitely ask for permission before I use anyone else's pictures again. I'm fairly new to blogging, but that's no excuse. It's a common courtesy. Anyway, thanks again. Sorry for the huge error, Sydney"
and here's my reply...
"Hi Sydney,
Thank you for removing them, I appreciate it. Please don't feel embarrassed - it's, unfortunately, a common error that new bloggers make. If you take a look around most blogs, you'l find that all information is subject to copyrights (my copyright information is in my sidebar under the heading "Don't Steal") In fact, since you mentioned that you're new to blogging, you might be interested in checking out those sites that I have registered my copyrights through so that you're information is protected to. Basically, you just have to follow the blogging golden rule of "Treat other blogs the way that I would want mine to be treated." - I'm sure you wouldn't want personal photos or part of your posts being used on another blog without knowing about it.
Another good resource for new bloggers is this link explaining basic blogging etiquette: http://www.bloggingbasics101.com/2009/08/1639/
Thanks, again, for your cooperation and understanding.
Lindsay"

I love you Geo
Glad you got a response Lindsay!
So glad she responded, I hate when things get ugly on the internet (and that was fairly creepy to begin with) and though she really needs to 'school up' on blogging I think she seemed sincere.
Can I hire you to be the "blog enforcer"??

Completely agree with this, that's why I just couldn't be mean to her about it - everyone makes mistakes, and in blogging, you just kind of learn along the way by screwing crap up, lol. I'm hoping she took my suggestions as helpful and not mean!

Just because I'm nosey when it comes to blogs, yes, I'll probably keep an eye on it, lol.

I hope so too!! I can't imagine having a blog and doing that (and I know close to nothing abotu blogging) but I guess some people can be pretty clueless.
I agree. I don't blog but I think it's common sense that if there's a watermark on the photo, it's pretty obvious that it means that the photo belongs to someone and you can't just use it for whatever you want. Some people are just dense.
Agreed.
