runners: Achillies Tendonitis?

I have achilies tendonitis =( Anyone else? I'm just about the most inflexible person in the world, no joke. I'm trying to take care of it, and I'd like to know what you girls do. I have been trying to  stretch it three times a day, more intensely before and after a workout. I have also starting icing it. Is there an intense stretching routine I can get into? My left ALWAYS feels sooo tight. I just don't want a serious injury. I have come to injoy running

  • Whatever you do, don't run when it's hurting or stretch (you don't want to tear it further). I would recommend seeing a sports chiropractor or physical therapist that specializes in A.R.T (active release technique). If you're in the SF Bay Area, I will give you my docs info, I see her once a month for A.R.T. and she's awesome; accepts insurance too.

This. Husband had it. Also, get yourself some REALLY good daily inserts for your shoes (I like superfeet) and make sure you stretch it really well.
