Poor Satchel

DH and I occasionally get a bone for Satchel from the butcher.  We gave him one last night as a treat, but this morning...poor little guy has been constipated.  We were really concerned that not only could he not seem to go, but he wasn't eating.  He tried eating a few bites of food, and promptly threw it up.  It was a fun start to Valentine's Day.

So we called the vet when they opened and scheduled an appointment for him later this morning.  And then wouldn't you, about 15 minutes later, he managed to poo, then ate his whole bowl full of food, drank a bunch of water, and was happily running up and down the hall playing.

Poor little guy...he definitely seems to be feeling better now, but I'll keep a close eye on him today.  If anything else seems at all out of the ordinary, DH is going to come home and take him to the vet.  And I'm pretty sure that Satchel has now had his last bone.

Re: Poor Satchel

  • Aw, poor guy.  Glad he's feeling better though!
  • poor guy! we've never given murphy one of those. our vet said they can be pretty dangerous. little shards of bone can stab them in their throat or stomach. : /

it sucks when your pup is sick b/c there's not much you can usually do for them.

I'm glad he's feeling better though!

  • Poor guy but glad he is feeling better.

  • I know Maggie has some stomach issues. She has gotten constipated before. It is actually miserible to watch her bc she is in so much pain. Anyways the vet told us to give her more fiber. We found some treats that is a yam wrapped in chicken. And also we give her a tablespoon of plain pumpkin everyday to help with her stomach.

It is bad when our furbabies get hurt or not feeling good.
