and what did you do thanks to the warm weather?
this weekend was a stunner!
yesterday lars and i spent a couple of hours chipping ice off the end of the driveway (which i did in a TANK TOP) and holy hannah are my shoulders/lats/hands sore!
we also shoveled off our back patio and deck and lars had the lovely job of cleaning up the winter's worth of dog poo from the yard.
sh!itty work (no pun intended) but what a great day to be outside!
now that the deck is clear and it's a bit warmer, i too am excited to fire up the grill!
Re: and what did you do thanks to the warm weather?
I attended a baby shower on Saturday and threw a baby shower yesterday (two of my best friends are preggers and we did their showers on the same weekend so out of towners could come for both).
Both showers were a blast, but it did not leave me with any time to spend outside. DH enjoyed the warm weather though as he chipped the 6 inches of ice off of our driveway. With 4 pregnant ladies coming to my house yesterday we wanted to make sure none of them fell!!!
I really wanted to take Mollie for a walk but my parents stayed longer than anticipated.
We did crack the kitchen window and the fresh air was wonderful.
I stood outside and cheered at the sight of our problematic ice dams melting away finally. This winter sucked for that and I have a living room ceiling to get re-plastered because of it. Barring any further snowpocalypses, we should be in the clear the rest of "winter".
I had to go to Ikea to get ready for my sister's baby shower next weekend and I drove home with the heat on and sunroof open! It felt great to have the sun on my skin and fresh air in the car.

Saturday I spend out by myself, it was a wonderful quiet day.
Yesterday we spend a few hours outside and went sledding and built a snowman, it was a GREAT time.
I took Sammy for nice, long walks both Saturday and Sunday. I walk him every day regularly (unless the temp is below zero), so it wasn't out of the ordinary to be out walking the dog, but we went much further than we have been on colder days. He was so happy to be out for extended walks like he gets in warm weather. He was a wet, muddy dog when we got home, but a very happy one. He slept so good last night!
Also, I cleaned up all the snow that ended up on our driveway as a result of the neighbor kids having a huge snowball fight in the yard next to us (and our yard too based on all the footprints!)
Mr. Sammy Dog
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
The dogs loved being outside, and spent more time than usual out playing.
I discovered that our ceiling was leaking, right into the living room, right on the carpet. Second year in a row that this has happened. My DH is now on our Association board so we had a nice long talk last night and he's going to bring up some concerns. The association is worried about the cost of shoveling roofs off (~$5k each time)... however, I feel that they should spend the money a few times during the winter if necessary because now, if several houses have damage that they need to fix, it's likely that it could cost the same, if not more, than just spending the $5k a few times. You know? Ugh..ok..sorry for the vent.
Until we get this all figured out, this is the state of our living room.
So unfortunately, we weren't able to enjoy the nice weather. We did go for a walk at about 7pm, it was still pretty nice, but super windy.
Did my scheduled long run around the lake at Como yesterday. GORGEOUS. Sunny and 43 degrees. I couldn't believe it.
Saturday the hubs and I were downtown St. Paul all day at the Science Museum, took in some time down in Rice park and went for a long walk.
So nice.
Just got back from a morning run. Today's not bad either! Go out and enjoy!
:::Our Adoption Journey:::
Evan James was born 1/24/13 and matched with us 2/20/13. The LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!
We went to Battle Creek dog park both days and wore out our puppy, sleeping this weekend was awesome!
Scooped poop. A LOT of poop.
My sister and I went on a nice long walk yesterday. It was glorious!!
We did a lot of ice chipping off the front sidewalk, side of the house and the driveway. I scooped poop too. GROSS. Two ginormous bags of poo. There's still more... but I have to wait for more snow to melt.
It was fantastic being able to run errands without running the heater on high in the car too. AND I got a car wash! AWESOME!
This.
