How long for strawberries to bear fruit?
I started planting strawberries tow years ago and haven't gotten any edible fruit yet. The first year, I put 20 plants (bare root) in a large strawberry pot -- nothing. Last year, I moved the old plants to window boxes and they produced foliage but no fruit or a couple of mini fruit (green pea sized). The second year, I planted new strawberries in my large strawberry pot and nothing.
Should I just throw everything out and start over? Or does it take awhile to establish and bear fruit?
The first year I planted the strawberries was the bad tomato blight year if that matters. I didn't have blight on any of my tomatoes, but I did have a container with tomatoes near the container with the strawberries.

Re: How long for strawberries to bear fruit?
My (bare root) strawberries produced the first year (I pinched off blossoms as I saw them to help them establish, but I missed some & those developed into fruit).
I agree with pp, the issue may be overcrowding.
