Here's how I spent my morning...

Re: Here's how I spent my morning...

  • HOLY CRAP!  Everyone was okay??

Um, and I read the article ... I really question the suspects of wind and moisture.

  • The dentist's insurance guy said "our insurance should cover it because 'it was the wind's fault'"..... ???

My thought is that if I'm a paying consumer of your trade, I have a reasonable belief that if I park in your lot, my car will be okay.

  • Wow!  I can't see the FB pics, but the article had a good picture.  I'm glad you're ok and weren't in or next to your car when it happened.  I don't see how wind could cause that, either.

Yeah, that would be like arguing that someone else hit your car while it was parked, but it was because the road was icy, so your insurance should still pay.  Call (if you haven't already) your insurance company and the attorneys will fight it out.  I'd put my money on the dentist's insurance ending up paying for all the damage.

They must have to have property insurance as we have to have it for our homes ... and if someone falls on our property, they have the right to seek damages.

Those were my exact thoughts.  I'm a little weirded out though that the dentist's insurance agent was so quick to place blame elsewhere, rather than own up to the fact that the property caused the damage and start the paperwork.

Yep sketchy at best. Id let your isurance company fight it! Sounds like they are just trying any tactic to avoid paying up!

  • Whoa. That is crazy. You'll have to let us know how everything turns out.
  • Yikes, I'm glad you are ok!

  • Holy Cow! I am glad that you are ok, it sucks about your car. I pretty much agree with what Julia said, definitely call your insurance and let them fight it out.
