What to read next?

I just finished the Hunger Games series and then I read Water for Elephants. I downloaded Switch and I am not liking it. Anyone reading something amazing right now?

Re: What to read next?

  • Did you read The Help yet?  What are you in the mood for?  I love my silly supernatural stuff, so any of the Sookie Stackhouse books and Kelley Armstrong novels are a plus for me.  I am working on Kelley Armstrong's Awaking the Witch or something like that, just downloaded it a few days ago and will start tomorrow.

  • Oh yes I forgot I wanted to read The Help!

I've read all the Sookie Stackhouse books and am eagerly awaiting May for the next one!

I haven't heard of Kelley Armstrong.

  • I second The Help. I gave it to my mom after I read it and she also really liked it. The Glass Castle is good, too, if you haven't read that.

I'm currently reading the Duggars book and I really like it Stick out tongue

Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.
  • What did you think of Mockingjay?  Did you like the ending?  Do you think the silver umbrellas were from the Rebellion, or from the Capital?
  • YAY HUNGER GAMES!

I really liked Kelley Armstrong's The Darkest Powers trilogy.

My current favorite is Anna and the French Kiss by Stephenie Perkins.

Book 2 in the Hex Hall trilogy is about to come out in 2? weeks. I always have to pimp out these books because Rachel is such a cool cat.

  • I am reading Little Bee by Chris Cleave for my book club. It is very good but not super uplifting.

  • I just read 'The Pig Did It' that was a fun read. I second the Glass Castle, that was good.

  • I just finished The Help and I wasn't overly impressed. It was good, but not that good. I'm currently reading the Sedaris "Me Talk Pretty One Day" book. It's funny!

I also just found out that Alyson Noel has a spin off from The Immortals that's about Riley so I'm feeling obligated to get it.

  • ****************MOCKINGJAY SPOILERS ************

I thought Mockingjay was very dark. Then ending was almost a let down to me. I was completely surprised that Prim died though.  I did see right through President Snow, but didnt guess that Paylor would take over. I guess I like the classic Shakespearean romantic tragedies where the main character dies at the end despite the love story.

Are you talking about the ones that killed Prim? If so I definitely think they came from the Rebellion and I think that Gale had a hand in making them. It goes with my romantic tragedy way of thinking...

I briefly checked out the nest book club board before I posted this and saw people raving about it. I'm going to put it on my to read list but right now the Kindle price is higher then the actually book price so I am going to hold off.

  • The Glass Castle is one of the samples I downloaded. I think I might have read it already b.c the plot sounds so familiar. Maybe Ill read the sample tonight.

I will say that I am loving the sample feature b/c so far its saved me twice from reading a book I've already read!!
