First of all, happy Valentine's day ladies! Idk about you, but I'm excited for our first Valentine's day as married people.
I just got done looking through all of Emily's (Emdizzle) foodie pictures & it made me want to see everyone else's Valentine food!
I figure a lot of us will be either cooking nice dinners or going out to eat tonight. Either way, chances are you'll be eating something awesome tonight that looks prettier than a normal weeknight dinner, and I want to see it! So I challenge all of you to PIP-wh0re your first Valentine's dinner as husband and wife. Whip out that camera phone & show us your dinner, your appetizers, your pretty pink & red cocktails, your heart shaped snacks... anything you got!

Re: WFD Challenge
Works for me Kearstin. I'm off work today so I'm going all out cooking for tonight. I have lobster tails & bacon-wrapped fliet mignon, so I'm doing surf & turf. Clinton is going to be super pumped, haha. I'm also making twice-baked sweet potatoes and asparagus. I have red velvet cheesecake brownies in the oven right now (http://sweetpeaskitchen.com/2011/02/01/red-velvet-cheesecake-brownies/), and I've never actually made them before so I'm hoping they turn out as delicious as they look. And there are raspberries and and a bottle of champagne in the fridge.
Yup. I'm one of those disgusting girls who LOVES Valentine's Day & goes all out. It's just how I roll. :-P

Soooo glad you mentioned this. I've been holding onto a recipe from Food Network Magazine for two months for this. Champagne, raspberries, Chambord, and orange juice.
We'll be doing "fancy" Asian take-out (an upscale sushi place)
this place
and I think I'm going to make cookies. I realllllly need to do some homework though.

Chris is grilling filets for us and I'll make some sort of pasta to go with it (type TBD...and, yes, it's 5:30 and I still don't know).
For dessert, I bought strawberry cupcakes from a local bakery, and Chris bought freshly dipped chocolate covered strawberries...white and milk chocolate...yum!!!

Our Valentine's Dinner
From-scratch pancakes with homemade pear preserves.
Our Dinner was homemade Shrimp and Veggie tempura with Ginger salad and miso soup.
Our champagne and raspberries (which I picked up after Sara mentioned it because it sounded perfect). My boss gave me the rose with a homemade valentine from R, the 3 yr old I take care of.
Cute picture of us:
And a cute picture of JackD, trying to steal some champagne:
Hope everybody had a great Valentine's Day!!!
As I posted earlier, Matt had to work tonight so we had a Valentine's lunch at home yesterday, and will go out to celebrate on Friday. I posted these pics on FB already so some of you have seen them, but thought I'd share here too.
This is what he gave me this morning. He completely overwhelmed me! Roses AND orchids? Really?!?! And 5 different things of chocolate!
Then tonight I decided that I deserved to have a yummy Valentine's night dinner, especially after reading about food all day long. Fortunately, we had some good "leftover" items that culminated into an absolutely delicious dinner.
Terrible picture, and I was too hungry to keep trying for a non-blurry one. I was also too lazy to transfer them into pretty dishes.

ETA: Our champagne/Chambord and raspberries are in a pair of glasses I etched for the wedding. I did a pair for each WP member, and I think we have six :P (I wanted extra in case I ruined some, I ruined two, leaving 6 for us).
