I am going to try and make this make sense and be as short as possible, but bear with me...
On Saturday, we had a show. Because of the placement of a camera, we had to take out some audience seats. Normally this is handled by Central Power (CP), but since it was Saturday, they only had one guy on (E). We didn't know until Saturday that the seats had to be removed, otherwise we would have put in a request to have it done in advance.
On Satuday, I called E as soon as I knew the seats had to come out. E is incredibly lazy, and says he can't do it, but if I had crew, that they should go ahead and do it. So my crew did it. I sent an email to the CP bosses to let them know that we did it. The seats we took out were part of a larger group that were being removed today anyway.
This morning, D, the person who normally removes the seats, comes into my office because she's mad that we took the seats out without permission, blah blah blah. I told her what actually happened on Saturday, that I followed procedure, and we didn't know in advance, etc. She tells me that E told her that I only told him about the seats after we took them out (completely untrue!), which is why she was mad at me, but since that's not how it went down, she is no longer mad at me. Now she's mad at E for lying about it.
Right now I'm trying to decide what to say when I call the CP boss to explain my side of this, because I will not sit here and let E bad mouth me. I think I'm going to go with something like "I'm sorry D is so upset about it, but I called E, before we removed the seats, and he said to go ahead and do it...". That way, I'm not tattling, but I'm still defending myself.
Happy fricking Monday.
Re: Oh no he didn't!
Ugh....I hate when people lie and throw others under the bus to cover their own f*ck ups.
Do you have any documentation of the requests?
This is the COMPLETE story of my job. So happy to be on leave right now when I hear this crap.
Unfortunately it was all over the phone, so no records. But, everyone knows he's lazy and not that smart, so I don't think I'll end up being the one under the bus. He thinks I'm all nice and sweet, but he's tangling with the wrong chick today.
Fact: people lie when they don't want to get busted.
Fact: those people are douchecanoes.
Ugh, sorry you have to deal with this. Glitter punch to E's tiny junk.
