First, this post isn't to make anyone feel bad. Some of us do V Day, some of us don't. If you do, what did your dh/so do go make your day special? I sent dh to the store yesterday. He came home with a card and dd gift card. It's special because it wasn't prompted or hinted, and he never does things like that. I felt very loved!
Re: Valentine's day
Very sweet! I love those unprompted gestures
I was so excited about my Valentine surprise that I already AW'd it in my "hope this picture works" post lol ... we've barely started seeing each other but have been friends for a long time so everything is very comfortable already in some ways, and he surprised me before work this morning by coming over with a beautiful bouquet and a card. I was shocked in a good way!
Cuteness on both accounts!
DH has been gone for 3 weeks and change. The ship is coming in tomorrow morning, so I consider that my Valentine- I can't wait to wake up next to him, as much as I love cat @ss staring me in the face every morning.
Thursday I have a doctor's appt in the AM which DH will come along for, and we're taking in a play we've both really wanted to see and catching dinner beforehand @ an awesome Portuguese restaurant before then, so I think that will be our Valentine's fun night.

We aren't big on the holiday and this year we are trying to be frugal so we really didn't do anything.(Usually we take it as an excuse to go out to dinner) I joked on fb that we are watching a romantic movie tonight though aka "Machete"(We just happened to rent it last night and didn't get a chance to watch it
)
Ok The Nest wouldn't let me delete it, but I realize this was a post for people who were doing something special for V-day. Sorry about that!!
DH went to Portland last week to buy me the fancy flavored popcorn that I gift certificate for. He gave it to me last night "wrapped" in the plastic bag from the store. Ah, ever the romantic!
I gave DH a card, a large bar of Trader Joe's dark chocolate, and a keychain with Helen's picture on it.
we were going to try to plan for massages, but honestly were just too lazy to find the right place and book them
but i worked alllll day yesterday and when i came home, there was Otto's pizza, flowers and chocolate-covered strawberries waiting for me (dark chocolate only, which he doesn't like, so they were ALL for me!)
MH goes through romantic phases...I really wasn't expecting anything...I just figured we both dropped the massage ball and we'd move on...so, it was very sweet
We went to brunch and got cupcakes from Two Fat Cats on Sunday. Last night, we had pizza and sweet potato fries for dinner, followed by leftover cupcakes.
I got a necklace and a box of Godiva chocolates. He got a photobook from Shutterfly, some homemade chocolates and some chocolate covered Oreos.
Miss Ridley got a Valentine monkey snowglobe, one of those M&M wand things that they make for every holiday, and a chocolate heart lollipop. She also had a ton of candy from her Valentine's party at daycare.
