I'm totally at a weight loss plateau, have been for a while. I'd like to hear your best tips and favorite light snacks. Ready? Go!
Re: Give me your advice
Yep, I'm in the middle of New Rules of Lifting for Women, started that in November. My issue is that I feel like (other than alcohol) I'm doing most of the right things, I eat a filling low-fat breakfast, fruit or veggies and hummus or 0% greek yogurt for snacks, track my calories, exercise 4-5 times a week, and I'm just stuck. Boo.
My BMI is still on the cusp of overweight, so there's weight to lose, I'm just stuck.
How do you like the NROLFW? I just got it in the mail yesterday and have read about 50 pages. So far it is making me feel really good about my body. I'm hoping to read the rest and start the lifting program this weekend.

I love it and hate it all at the same time:) I am feeling a LOT stronger, and I already had a good base of weightlifting skill. By the end of Stage 1, I was definitely bored, but I was happy with my strength gains. Stage 2 workouts were a LOT harder, but still, I felt pretty good about them, I'm definitely pushing myself a lot more than I had been.
I started at the end of Nov. and am in my rest week between 2 and 3, I'll start back up on Monday, depending on how sore I may be from skiing this weekend.
I think once you get to the workouts, you can skim through it, I use my book a lot for reference. I certainly don't remember all the moves and workouts by the time I need.
I tried for a while to follow the diet, but I gained a few lbs, and that was NOT my plan. I think it's a little calorie/protein heavy, so I've lightened up and dropped those couple lbs.
Love/Hate is good, I think. I've been lifting with machines for 4 years now and I want to push myself to try something different. I bought the book mainly for the lifting. I'm reading the rest of it, but I highly doubt I will follow an eating plan. I love food and I just try to make good choices most of the time. Following a strict diet would make me cranky.

I like NROLFW. I did the first 4 stages last summer. I need to start again since I didn't start after rugby ended and I'm pretty out of shape now. (Unfortunately, my gym access is limited now and the tiny gym here doesn't have a rack at all, but I'll probably do what I can modifying for dumbbells).
As far as your issue goes:
a) add interval training
b) be sure you're eating ENOUGH
and c) be realistic about maintainable goals (something I like to throw in since not every body is "built" to be in the somewhat arbetrary ranges)
a) already do
b) This may be an issue, but I feel like I'm definitely getting enough, so does Livestrong.
c) I'm 5'7" and 160-163 depending on the day, if I could get to 150-153 depending on the day I would be perfectly fine with that. I think I'm still heavy for what I know I can be, that's where I was for the wedding.
Do something different in your workout routines. Keep your body guessing!
As for snacks, the chobani greek yogurts have been my lifesaver during the morning snacks...I am loving the black cherry flavor!
