Re: Finding out the gender

  • I think I could go without knowing, but for planning purposes we decided that we would find out.

  • We didn't find out with Lucy, I would find out with subsequent kids but C doesn't want to! He thinks it was fun (as did I )

Personally I was the one that didn't want to find out with lucy and he let me not find out, now the roles are reversed!

  • I have NO IDEA.  This will seriously be a game day decision.

  • Yes, I'm a planner so I need to know...since we had a boy first I would want to know if it was a girl so we could plan around girl stuff.

  • I'm leaning more towards finding out. I'm really impatient. DH says he doesn't care either way. Only time will tell.

  • I have to find out, it would just kill me not to know, I am a huge planner, either way it's a suprise really.

  • I don't think I would want to. I think it would be a great surprise. I'm not sure what DH would say, but I plan on pulling the "I'm pushing this kid out of a small hole" card and winning that one if he decides he wants to find out.

  • I didn't want to, but we plan to now since we only have 1 (if that) boy name we like and I am worried about going home with unnamed baby/ies. We most likely will not tell anyone (IRL anyway) unless there's a mix (and even then I'm not sure because we don't want a bunch of pink and blue stuff at least early on)
  • Absolutely.  so much so that I'm pretty sure if DH didn't want to find out the sex, I'd be immature and bratty and basically beg him to let me find out.

  • We plan to find out. I don't think I could go all that time NOT knowing (though I really admire those that do!)

    Vacation
  • At first, I HAD to know as I am type A and I need to plan. However, as DH and I discussed names of each gender (we have decided on each), we figured we could wait. Also, to my parents-all three of us were not finding out either. I thought I would carry on the tradition of not finding out.

My sister though, HAD to find out.

  • I will find out. I think I want to do something fun like the my doctor write it in an envelope so we can open it together over dinner or have our families over to share the excitement.

I wonder if that's part of it for me; I don't think they even did u/s when I was born, at least not routinely.  Even though my youngest SIL is 8 years younger, my MIL didn't find out for any of her 4 kids.

I am so type A it's not even funny, but I had no desire to find out the first time around.  Well, until I was almost 42 weeks.  Then I was ready to know! And I made it to the u/s the morning they decided they had to induce and saw that he was a boy by accident, so all that waiting for nothing!

  • I think we probably will for #2 as well. I didn't want to know for B but J convinced me and then once I decided I would find out I wanted to know that very second.
  • We have really liked knowing so far with this one so i would assume we will if we are lucky enough to have #2

  • I did find out with the boys but not with lacey. And if we do get pregnant we dicided not to find out what the gender is
  • I like to think that I would have the patience to not find out the gender, but I don't know that I could wait!

Christina I am in the same boat, I want to find out for number 2 but C does not. He really liked the surprise at the end. But with Norah he wanted to find out but waited because I didn't want to find out...

  • No. And it will kill my sister. She hates when people don't find out b/c then SHE has a hard time shopping for them b/c there are few neutral outfits etc out there. And she can't wait until baby comes b/c she loves to shop!
