South Dakota Moves to Legalize Killing Abortionists

Have you seen this article?

South Dakota Moves to Legalize Killing Abortionists

I can't imagine this ever becoming legalized, but still. I am horrified that people would even try to get this legalized.  What's next, killing the women who want the abortions? Seriously.

  • I am very pro-life. I work with women who may want to get abortions, or who have had abortions. No matter what choice they make, I make it my mission to love on them and support them. It makes me so angry that people want to condemn and cause further harm to women. I would be so upset if a "killing women who get abortions law" was actually considered. It's so sad that instead of using time and resources to actually help women faced with a crisis pregnancy, they are used to make them afraid and ashamed.

  • WTF???  I have nothing else to add, this is just so ludicrous.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Ridiculous, and indeed legally dubious as the quoted law professor called it. I just don't understand how a political party can put its support behind a law that would make it easier to kill people.
  • Apparently South Dakotans are pro-life only when it involves fetuses, not every life.

  • Definitely scary and it's been the law before. A hundred years ago the punishment for someone convicted of performing an abortion (which was illegal and considered murder) was death. The same fate would have befallen the woman who procured an abortion. And I think most of us would agree that we do not want to return to the justice system we had in those days.

don't lump average south dakotans in with their legislators.  they've voted down draconian anti-abortion referendums twice in the past few years!

  • I swear sometimes I wonder what the heck is happening to this country. I read this seconds after reading that half of GOP primary voters believe Obama wasn't born in the U.S. Really? Really? On both counts!
