WTF is wrong with people?! -Work vent

As I've mentioned before, I work at a small marketing company on Bay St. I deal with crap like this on a daily basis. (This is from random people walking by, seeing that this is a business office and have no clue of appropriate behavior.)

1) No, I do not have change for your meter. (I do if you're a client of ours, but who just walks into an office and asks this?)

2) No, you cannot use our bathroom. We're not a gas station.

3) You should not walk into my office, ask what type of business we are and then ask if we have a fax machine you can use. Did I say that we were a kinkos?? No, I did not. (Someone just did this)

4) It is not appropriate to look at the sign on the door (which obviously indicates that we are a business office) and then open the door and while still standing outside YELL into my office asking me what the date is.

5) You cannot sit inside while you wait for your ride.

There are a million more examples, these are just a few from this week...and it's only Tuesday.

Feel free to post things that make you ask,"WTF are they thinking?"

  • Because the door to my old shared office was always open, students would walk by and ask to come in and use a pen, pencil sharpener, phone, for a piece of paper, etc.  Sometimes they wouldn't even ask to come in, they would just walk in.

  • Serious question...can you lock the door?  Or do you have customers/potential customers coming in and out on a daily basis...
  • Mine has to do with conference calls.

Put your phone on mute.  Just because you whisper doesn't mean that the entire frickin company can't hear you.

No lie...I've done this and they knock on the door. Then they peer in the window and see me sitting there staring at them. lol It usually always gives me a good laugh, it just amazes me at how clueless people are.

  • Yeeaaah, I would keep the door locked if you don't have walk-in customers. The can knock/stare all they want, but having the door locked would make me feel much safer personally.
