Tooting my own horn because I can

So, we all know there is insane cutbacks in education for next year.  This is going to effect everyone and their kids - literally.  I'm talking like class sizes could be up to 50 in some districts (who the H has a classroom that big?)!

Anyway, I was doing an ARD today with my principal and after the meeting we were talking.  She said she had something cool to tell me.  In my head, I'm thinking she found some cool book or something to use in my class because she orders me stuff a lot ( I <3 her!).  Anyway, she proceeds to tell me they had a principals meeting in which they were going over state assessment.  She whipped out a database I made of all our kids, what version of the test they take and with what accommodations (all color coded).  Apparently, all the other principal's were pretty jealous.

The story could have ended there and I would have felt pretty good about myself but it went on.

So, I don't know how the conversation went into this but she was talking about how all my kids passed the test last year and we had a lot with almost perfect scores.  So somehow with that tidbit and the fact there may be some shuffling of teachers around next year - there were quite a few requests that I be moved to the other principal's schools!

Um, what?  I still don't see myself as some awesome teacher.  I just do what I do for my kids.  They are my #1, KWIM?  So, for me to get recognized like that is really humbling because to me, it isn't me - it's my kids.  It felt pretty good though if I must say :)

Also, I'm not leaving my school and they'd have to completely take SPED off my campus for me to get transferred because I have the most time in but still, at least I have options.  Yay!
