New Do! ~ PIP

OK so I did the wife chop when we got home from the HM...but it just wasn't working for me...it was a short cut, a little shorten then a bob, and stacked in the back.

So I had been thinking about cutting it shorter for about a month or so...and tonight after work I went and got chopped again! thought I'd share!

Re: New Do! ~ PIP

  • Girl!!!! Look at you making the big jump to pixie land!

You definitely have a good face for short hair, and I love the no bangs look... when I go super short like yours my bangs have a tough time cooperating.

Have you ever had a pixie before?  The only thing I notice in the top photo (it could just be the angle), and this is just going off what I've learned about what I like and don't like with different cuts of my own hair, is that the lower half of the back of your hair could be shortened in a little more, following the shape of your head and neck, gives a nice feminine shape to it (but like I said, it could just be the angle your how your hair fell in the photo).   You don't need to run to a stylist this afternoon, but for your next cut, just something to keep in mind if it fits your fancy.  You'll notice it more as it grows in, when the hair in that lower portion of the back of the head feels like it's growing faster than everything else and feels like a mullet (DH has to 'calm' me down, reassuring me that it does not in fact look like I have a mullet, but it sure does feel like it)

Also, with a super short pixie, I'm a big fan of taking my hair a little bit darker - it gives the little bit of hair left on my head a little bit of a bold 'pop'!  (and box coloring at home is sooo freaking easy when you have so little hair :)    I've tried different types of highlights with super short pixie, but I've always fallen out of love with them real fast.  One solid color is the best way to go for me.

Props on making the big cut!!!

Have you ever had a pixie before?

Yes I use to keep my hair at pixie length in high school, and for a few years after, when mike and I first started dating it was pixie with some different hair color... can't keep them straight anymore have had so many different colors in it. I have to agree with the color helps make it pop...but I try to avoid the hair dye section at the stores, it's like letting a kid lose at a candy store lol.

and as far as the back. I think it was the way I took the photo, and the fact that I hoped in the shower when I got home and then did nothing to it (no gel ) and layed on the couch. got to love that couch hair!

Thanks for the thumbs up on the do everyone! Yes

  • It looks great and, like PPs noted, you have the face for it!  I agree with Em's suggestion of a darker color too.  Makes me want to go just a little bit shorter now...
