I'm starting to think I'm on some kind of Candid Camera version of customer service. Flowers arrived 3 days late and dead. Inquiries into customer service were unanswered for 5 days. Finally was able to find a phone number. I think the woman might have been f?cking with me. She literally asked me for my name and number 5 times. Once, it was immediately after I just told her.
"What is your name?"
"MelindaMG."
"Yes, now who am I speaking with?"
I seriously almost lost it.
Every time I tried to give her my phone number she would start talking in the middle of it so she couldn't hear. I finally said "stop talking when I'm giving you the number and you will be able to hear it."
Eventually I asked to speak to a supervisor and she repeated over and over again "No."
Finally after 25 minutes on the phone she put me through to someone else.
I'm really just baffled by the whole thing.
Re: I will never order from FTD again
I have yet to find a nice company to order flowers from. Awhile back I used FTD because I got a discount through work. They were flowers for my Sister for her Graduation. They arrived late and nasty looking. I was p!ssed.
Recently, my DH ordered flowers for me through Pro Flowers and I told him he should call and complain. This is probably moreso the delivery company than the actual flower company, but still.
Thankfully these flowers arrived OK. They came with a glass vase, I was shocked that it arrived ok. He spent $40 on flowers that were delivered like this and
didn't even last a week.
He should call. We've always had fantastic service from proflowers. If they die within a week, they've always sent us a replacement arrangement.
My co-workers H sent her orchids for V-day from Pro Flowers. They arrived frozen and dead. Luckily they are sending a replacement, but I would have been furious. Of course flowers are going to get cold when you send them to MN!
My H usually sends me a dozen roses from the florist in his building and they are always gorgeous.
Ordering from a local florist is a great idea--I never think to do that!
When I order flowers online, I always order from: http://www.organicbouquet.com/
The selection isn't as diverse, and they're a little pricier, but I like that the flowers are organically grown, and they've always arrived in great quality. I haven't had any issues that warrant dealing with their customer service, so I can't speak to that...
In my "day" job I order a lot of funeral flowers...I always google local shops in the City/Town that the funeral is to be held in and call and order from there. Its so convenient and sometimes the towns are so small that they even know the person, and the church its going to so I don't even have to have the Church information.
It's so much easier to do that, plus then I'm supporting the local economy by ordering from them. The arrangements have always looked great too!
Yes! 90% of the time at least. Joe and I used to use Edina 5-0 Floral, but they turned into an Indulge & Bloom and the prices went up, service went down, and quality/originality went down.
We've used Edina Floral as well, but they don't always do the most modern arrangements. Never a bad experience with them though. But yeah - Bachman's is usually who we use. Reliable, good quality, decent price.

Bachman's is a factory style floral shop. There are a couple "head" designers who come up with the designs, but they are produced using an assembly line style. Each person along the line has a job that they do all day long. This ranges from filling the containers with water to placing a single flower stem in the container in the same location and sending it down the line for the next stem addition. Not many people realize this. Arrangements are not done in stores, but in a warehouse setting.
oh! really? I've gotten arrangements from them at least 3 times and they've always sucked and died within a few days.

Maybe so, but they're still a local floral shop. But I just love Bachman's, so I'm always happy to see the purple trucks.
