My apartment

... and two reasons I'm glad our lease is up in two months.

One, the girl upstairs continues to act like a child (and since she's only 18, it's not much of a stretch). I mentioned to y'all the other day that we were out of town this weekend. DH was in Lexington Friday morning- Sunday night, and I was in Birmingham Thursday morning- Sunday afternoon. So that leaves most of the weekend, and the entire Saturday where we weren't here.

Apparently dumbazz upstairs decided this would be a good weekend to exact her revenge on us for filing a noise complaint with the landlord (as if her continued stomping wasn't sufficient "punishment"). Apparently she went to the leasing office Monday morning to tell the landlord, "The couple who live below me were SO noisy this weekend. I don't know how they can expect me to be more considerate to them when THEY had a party Saturday night where I could hear at least 15 different voices yelling up through my floor!"

Let me reiterate. WE WERE OUT OF TOWN. All weekend, we were out of town. No one in our apartment. No party. No sound whatsoever. Unless we have a very active ghost community on Saturday nights, or a band of criminals who break in, don't damage the locks, and don't take anything, this girl is 18 going on 12. The good thing is that my landlord knew we were going out of town this weekend (I had asked her earlier in the week about recycling & if we could leave it out early since we wouldn't be here on the actual day).

Ugh. So I think my other issue is somewhat related to the hot water issue on Valentine's Day. We all got notes on our doors at 11 last night (I heard them put it on my door) that said:

Dear Residents:

On February 16, 2011, a member of CP Maintenance will be entering your apartment between 9am and noon to check for a water leak. Please remove any items you have stored in front of the panel in your master bedroom closet. We will need to remove the panel to have access.

Thank you, Property Manager

Translation:

Dear Sara,

Don't go to bed right now. Clean your closet & drag everything out of it immediately so some dudes can show up & walk their muddy shoes into your bedroom, crawl into your closet, and take apart the wall. Then, fifteen seconds later when they're "done," you get to scrub the muddy carpet & pick up any sawdust or other debris they leave in their absence. We hope you enjoy this, and the cold shower you'll most likely find yourself taking in the next week or so. Hope you weren't about to go to sleep!

I call shenanigans on this whole day already, and it's only 10am. Tell me something happy!

Re: My apartment

  • I'm seriously annoyed by your neighbor just from your posts.  She is a real piece of work.  That's hilarious that she was trying to file a noise complaint against you guys!  How perfect is it that your landlord knew you were out of town?  Since she knew, did she call the liar out?  Are they doing ANYTHING to pursue this?  Sorry Copper :-/

  • How annoying, but seriously, how great does it feel to catch her in a lie?  Maybe you should ask her about it, just to watch her squirm ;)

  • Uggh, your neighbor is such a cvnt. I love that your landlord had to have known she was lying. Did your landlord tell you this? How did you find out? Are there going to be any repercussions for her lying and filing a false complaint?
