WTF Wednesday

i was browsing a friends wedding registry and they registered for like 5 $10 GC, 10$20 GC, 5 $50 GC and 2 $100 GC's. um...what? you dont put enough stuff on your registry for your 400 guests to buy you so instead you are going to determine what denomination of gift you want and how many of each you will accept? WTF.

im in charge of a conference. the fee is $10. people are emailing me asking if i will waive it. no. the fee is $10. what is not clear about that? WTF.

last night when i was at my parents' my uncle called re:grandpa and i answered the house phone. he asked for my mom and i said, "no this is sara hold on a second." and he was like, "oh you dont want to talk to me now that we are in business competition (he works for another environmental firm)?!?" i said, "i dont know what youre talking about, i've been in this business for SEVEN years." and he just laughed "har har har". he is such a pompous ass. when i started working here he was pissed that i wouldnt work for him and tried to get my boss to fire me. WTF.

WTF B? You signed us up online for your job's health insurance plan three days ago but I am not sure we have coverage. They claim it's effective immediately, but we don't have any member ID #, and there was no space to list my SS# or doctor, the only two things they list as required for HMOs (and say you will be asked to provide as you register...we were not prompted for that). Not only do I have to refill 3 Rx this week and have a shrink appt tonight, but I kinda sorta want to schedule the follow-up catscan of my brain so I can finally get on with my life, and I sure as *** am not going to do that until I know for sure we have coverage through your plan. So that means I am not cancelling the insurance through my work, so I can make sure my appt and Rx are covered, which means we are paying double. I know I am impatient and annoying, but I sat with you as you registered, and that software your company has is funky. I suspect something didn't take, but will you just CALL your benefits dept and ask them to verify our coverage and how we tell the HMO our PCP names? No. Cause that would be the proactive thing to do.

I am going to regret saying this, my big [lapsed] catholic guilt dictates that much, but I am so tired of talking to my elderly dad and having the same conversation over and over. It's not that he's forgetful or suffering dementia, he's quite sharp. He just talks about the same things over and over. The weather. What he had for each meal. His visiting nurses. When his next doc appt is. He lives alone and his health has been failing, but I talk to him three times a day (to check on him, for those two reasons) and mother of god, sometimes I just want to throw my phone out the window.  And then I hate myself for it.

Why am I so effing cranky this morning?

  • Haaaa I was just thinking about starting a WTF Wednesday thread...

WTF, boss? Two days to sell a President's Day special is NOT ENOUGH. Don't be surprised when I don't sell anything.

WTF, Guy? We can't put the new couch where it goes until you move the bookshelf like you said you would. Please just do it.

WTF, State of Arkansas, I filed my tax return 3 days before my co-worker did, and we both e-filed. Why did she get her refund on Friday and I have yet to receive mine? Please to be giving me my monies. TYIA.
  • wtf hip?! I can hardly walk, I can't turn my leg out, I can't bend over, I can't sit in a chair and I can't sit cross legged on the floor. And this shooting dagger pain is not something I know what to do about.

  • WTF Pier I. Anwar and I spent almost an hour in your store, and couldn't find crap we wanted to get with my gift card. Step your game up. Please, and thanks.

My insurance was effective immediately upon getting hired but I had to wait a couple of weeks for my card and couldn't enroll in any of the online stuff (PCP, etc.) until that happened because I didn't have my Member ID.   However, I had to go to Urgent Care during that time and paid OOP and the insurance reimbursed me no problem.  Maybe ask if he can get those forms from work?

Thanks for the info. I know there's always a lag time with these things, and you are covered but may have to pay OOP, but I'm trying to avoid that. I'm just frustrated cause I was supposed to have the test done in early January and delayed it because I wanted to do it on his insurance since mine has a huge deductible. I'm just being a cranky baby today, and a control freak who knows that if you want something done right, you have to do yourself in general.

But considering I can't get him to call his benefits dept to ask the question about whether his enrollment took (we looked online at his employee benefits page last night and everything is listed BUT healthcare), I doubt I can ask him to get the forms.

  • WTF phlebotomist -- it took 3 sticks to get one tube of blood from me today. I know I didn't drink a ton of water, but I've never had that much trouble getting blood. You redeemed yourself, though, by saying I was too nice not to be a mom. :)
