...a woman is suing for pain & suffering and covering her medical bills because she is blaming her miscarriage on the stress her baby daddy caused her. Apparently they were both harassing each other, from what I can tell - she cut up all of his clothes so that he couldn't go out to clubs after they broke up, and he would follow her and ask her where she was going and whatnot. Do you think that's reasonable?
Personally, while I think it's tragic that she had a miscarriage, I can't believe she's blaming it on him and I hope she doesn't get a dime.

That's totally ridiculous. You still have to show causation in small claims court and, um, good luck with that.
I'll admit I used to have a little obsession with Judge Judy, but H laid down the law when we moved in together and I stopped DVR'ing it. But those shows are funny!
The lady got no money! The judge said basically what you guys said, you absolutely cannot prove he caused the miscarriage and they were both acting like children.
Now there are tenants and landlords arguing about cockroaches.
I love trashy day time TV.
I wish I was home. I'd tune in right now.
Sounds like those tow deserve each other.

A lot of what I've seen is like that. People go to small claims court because they feel they have been wronged, but that doesn't necessarily translate into a valid legal claim. I've seen tons of them where guys get some naive girl to pay their bills, then they break up and the girl wants reimbursement. The judges always have to explain to them that if there was no agreement that it was a loan, it was a gift. Sad.
It's like people who get a speeding ticket and fight it because 'other people were speeding too!'
I like People's Court, and try to catch it on the rare occasion that I'm home while it's on.
I don't get why people sue for pain and suffering, you're likely not going to get it. I guess they figure it's worth a shot.
I need to sue a former landlord for our security deposit. Hmm...wonder if I can apply to be on PC.
Debdeb, if you go on PC for your security deposit, be sure to let me know when it airs!
I won't be staying home a lot more, so trashy daytime TV will dry up soon. These shows are good to have in the background, I can't work in complete silence.
I'm with you Laura. I need something in the background.
Sometimes I'll put on a movie with a good sound track. Like Moulin Rouge, or Chicago, or the Assasination of Jesse James, or The Fountain..nad twilight.
I love a good sound track.
