Last week, I was cooking jasmine rice and was so exhausted I passed out on the couch. It sat on the stove for about an hour and was almost on fire inside the pot when the smoke smell woke me up!
It sat soaking in soapy water for days with no luck of being able to scrub the bottom of the pot and finally my H had to DREMEL it to get it clean. He will never let me live this one down...
Re: Cooking Fail
This makes me feel a whole lot better about my own cooking failures. I'm sure I've done worse.
You're better than I am... I would've thrown the pot away!
I'm glad I'm not the only one! I wanted to throw it away but it was a nice Calphalon pot and we are broke so my H, the unemployed engineer, insisted on fixing it.
I think all of my cooking failures have involved rice.
I've had to scrub and scrub many stainless pots... calphalon too.
How effective is a calphalon pan once it's been dremeled? Just curious. lol
