Had a nice V-Day with the H. Small gifts. Low-key dinner in. Just my speed.
I got to go see the Cleopatra exhibit at the Museum Center with my BFF last night - and we caught some dinner afterward. That was really cool! It's been awhile since we've gotten to hang out without the H's around too.
On the flip side - I think our dinner out gave me a touch of food poisoning. Yikes! With no meetings on my calendar, I'm nursing it out at home today.
Re: What's Up Wednesday?!!
Food poising sucks! I hope u feel better.
Woohoo for hump day! Nothing much to report this am! Still a little ticked abt the Widmer case!
I'm struggling with staying awake & feeling completely exhausted this morning. My throat started to get a little sore yesterday and then my boss (who is less than 10 feet across the hall from me) tells me one of his kids was diagnosed w/ Scarlet Fever yest. Seriously?! The reason those of us in the office always seem to end up sick is b/c he is the WORST about covering his mouth when he sneezes or coughs (meaning he honestly never does it), and never stays home when its bad. He gets sick all.the.time! A couple of us just got over a horrible cold/flu and now a few of us are starting to feel sick again. Grrr!!!
H made me a really nice dinner last night for our Vday celebration together. Grilled pork chops w/ a marinade he made, brussel sprouts, & cous-cous. It was very yummy! I love having a chef for a husband!
He also got me a new purse. From Vera Bradley. I've never had anything that nice as far as a purse goes; it was really sweet!
I'm looking forward to tonight; we're meeting up w/ our friends for trivia. I also need a drink. Its only Wednesday and its been a rough week so far.
Me, too. I don't know the guy, but it is weighing on me. It's just scary. I always have random bruises; for instance I have bruises on my knees right now from burpees. H and I have argued within ear shot of other people, he is a big guy, he broke a car window once when he was drunk (I was not in the car, no one was in the car- I was DD and at a different bar with friends (and the keys). He wanted to sleep in the car until everyone else was ready to leave)...Heaven help him if anything were to happen to me.
In other news. Exhausted. Distracted. That's my summary of the day.
Happy Hump Day! Do you ever have one of those days that looking put together allows people perceive you as being put together? I am having one of those days and I tell you, the "put together" look is the only thing saving me. I am exhausted this morning! I had a meeting at 8 and had to say, "I'm not sure, but I can find out" once. I hate that. I like being prepared. Hopefully it wears off soon. I need the rest of the day to be super busy so I don't have a chance to slow down (...and sleep...)
Hope you guys are having a fabulous Wednesday!
I've had the same thought. I bruise easy, especially on my legs - and I've always got random scrapes from projects around the house or playing with the dogs. And while my H and I are really easy-going & low conflict now - we've had some intense moments, with witnesses. I think anyone's marriage under a microscope can be made to look bad.
In fact, I fell BADLY while we were out rollerblading once and ended up in the ER a few days later with a severely bruised chest wall (I was suspecting I'd broken a few ribs when the pain hadn't subsided within that time.). The ER doc, doing their due diligence, gave me domestic violence pamphlets and asked if I needed to talk to a counselor or police officer. I was like WHAT?!! Really - I just suck at rollerblading! - but I know they were doing their job b/c a lot of women can't be truthful about such things. But in context of the Widmer trial - I'm thinking - Wow - how would THAT look to a jury if something bad happened to me? My H's never been physical with me that way but that could be twisted to make him look like a monster.
@ anota - food poisoning SUCKS. I hope you feel better soon!!
@ laina - That's why they say fake it til ya make it! It's funny, too, the other day I was sick and running late, so I threw on comfy pants and a hoodie (yay for jobs where hoodies are acceptable!), slapped on some makeup so I didn't look totally dead, and pulled my hair back, and a coworker proceeded to tell me how cute I looked. Seriously. It does feel good when you can cover up what's REALLY going on!!
@ t - feel better!!! Yay for trivia and alcohol!!!
That'll be a mood-lifter.
I'm doing ok. Again, my schedule this week is pretty consistent for once - no days where I have nothing followed by days where I have 50 zillion appointments. Well, today's a little light and tomorrow's a little heavy, but manageable. I am quite sick of feeling gross and mucusy, but at least I don't feel rundown too. My shins are aching from chasing coaches last night, and I'm waiting until lunch to take Aleve because I don't think I've gotten enough food in my stomach this morning to take it yet. Then all will be well with the world!
Oh yes, I don't have tuberculosis. The injection I got yesterday is down to a little pink dot. That's good news.
Yay for no tuberculosis!!
