I am not sure if everyone has seen in the news today but Borders Books is filing Chapter 11 and closing 200 of their stores. The closing of these stores was part of the financing agreement they made with GE Capital.

This makes me extremely sad. I worked for the company for 4 years and really did enjoy it, well until they laid me off while I was on maternity leave BUT aside from that I love Borders. A good majority of the stores that are closing in MA and NH are stores that I have worked at and still have friends that are employed there.
I am ready for the economy to turn around now. Its just sad that so many people are losing their jobs AGAIN.
Re: Borders stores that are closing
This is so sad!
I know they weren't doing well b/c at the end of the year they closed their 4 story store on Michigan Avenue....but now I see they're closing the store closest to me and also ALL of the stores I used to go to when I was in school in Milwaukee. It's awful!

I am a Barnes and Noble girl but only because there is one within walking distance to the apt. Where did it say which are closing?
Edit: Obviously I can't read and missed the stores closing list. The one in my city is closing. The only in my old city in MA will be staying open for now.
