Hey girl!  Did your DH get the D80 or D90, and which one did you get?  I ask b/c I decided to get the D60 (highly recommended by Stephanie) and am wondering your opinion....?  TIA!!!

Re: **RubyRed**

  • Hey Alesha!  DH got the Nikon D700...way too complicated for me right now...lol.  I shoot with a D50, but now I'll use his old D200 since he's gotten a new one.  The D60 is a wonderful camera....I've LOVED my D50, and I'll definitely still use it for a lot of things...especially since it's smaller.  IMO, you can't go wrong with the Nikon SLRs...we have always been extremely happy with them.

  • Your pictures always look great.  Now I'm really excited about the D60!  Best Buy had it with a kit on sale for $599 a couple of weeks ago, and I'll get it if it's on sale for less than that on Black Friday.  I'm already trolling the BF2008 websites!  If it's not, then I'll wait until next year. :-)  Thanks so much for your feedback!

  • Thanks girl!  =)  DH has taught me a lot!

Have you thought about the D40?  The biggest difference in the D40 and D60 is going to be the megapixels.  But, if you're not going to enlarge photos bigger than 8x10, you probably wouldn't notice the difference anyway.  Don't get me wrong, the D60 is a better camera, but you can get a great deal on the D40.  We got our D40 for $500...that price included the camera, 2 lenses, and a gadget bag...from Wolf Camera.  I checked their site, and it's not on sale right now but it's bound to go back on sale!

Here's a great site...they have some of the best prices, no sales tax, and they're very reliable:  http://www.bhphotovideo.com/

Also, this site has some great equipment reviews:  http://www.dpreview.com/

     HTH!  :)

From what I've read so far, both the D40 and D60 are 1.1 lb.  Pretty light!
