Do you think its important to have a recording device of some kind to record your kidos with? My camera just takes pictures and I dont know if we want to spend the money right now on a camcorder... any thoughts?

I do. But we do have recording devices and either remember to get recording too late and he's done being funny/cute or we're too lazy to get the camera out. We constantly tell ourselves "we should be recording this". The videos we do have make me SO happy to watch and they were just months ago. Maybe I'll get a Flip for mothers day so its more accesible than our cameras.

Yes, It is important to us. Just last night Bella and I were looking at videos from when she was little baby. She loved watching herself. The first few months were a whirlwind for me trying to get adjusted to motherhood and I am so glad we have videos to look back on.

Oh I love our camcorder! Phil took some videos at the end of my pregnancy and a lot at the hospital (none of the labor!!) but we have her first minutes of life on film along with her first bath and tiny cry *sigh* We've actually used it quite a bit. Most of the vids are only a few minutes long here and there, but it's fun to see different noises she was into or how excited we were when she first started rolling, etc

we got a flip for christmas and i love it! my mom was letting us use hers but it pretty much just sat there since the baby didn't do anything but sleep. it came at a perfect time since she began her milestones soon after. we were able to record her rolling, laughing, sitting up, etc...

since my mom watches her during the day we get little videos and it's great.

I have a flip on my wishlist from christmas, and I already told family I'd really like it for my birthday. The only reason it's on there is to record family moments once Felicity arrives.

MIL and FIL got us a Flip video camera when Ryan was born (well, actually on the false alarm day)

We've honestly used it a handful of times though.

We have a Flip and use it all.the.time. Sure, the videos are mostly sitting on our computer unlabeled, but they're there and we love to look at them from time to time. Babies change so quickly and it's so easy to forget the sounds and faces they made when they were littler.
