Justin Bieber on abortion
Oh wait, who gives two licks about what a 16-year-old boy thinks about it. It seriously irritated me when I saw this on msn.com, but I thought I would share

One issue he's rock-solid on: "I really don't believe in abortion," he admits. "It's like killing a baby?"
What about abortion in cases of rape? "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."
And how exactly would you be in that position? Are you able to get pregnant?
In general, men's opinion on abortion are irrelevant to me (obviously not DH's opinion, but shmoes that I don't give a damn about).
Not pushing my opinion on the subject, just though it was strange that they would even ask him that question.
Ironically, the only words I know from any of his songs are Baaaaaby Baaaaaby.
Re: Justin Bieber on abortion
He makes me want to stab my eyes out. He's a child with zero real life experience and while he has a right to his own opinion, I don't want him shaping the minds of his impressionable young fans.
Maine is currently having some legislative issues about abortion rights and teenage contraceptives.
Abortion is not something I think I could do myself, but no one has the right to tell me what to do with my body. Abortion is the second safest procedure (the first being tooth extraction), and is 10x safer than carrying a child to term. Making abortion illegal is only going to kill more women, because those women are likely to try to do it themselves (coat hangers, etc). That's what makes me so mad, the thought of women bleeding out in their homes, or children being brought into the world to homes that don't want them, or put into the system.
The teenage thing is about requiring parental consent for underages people to obtain contraceptives. Should kids be talking to their parents about sex? Yes! But not every child is raised in a supportive home. Or even a safe home.
I was annoyed that Glee did an entire episode about that kid. I have not seen a single thing with him in it, and have never heard any of his songs (except for Glee) and I count myself a blessed woman.

We have different views on abortion, but I respect everyone's opinion.
Well, I don't respect the Bieb's opinion, simply because I don't care what he has to say.
Maybe it's just my hatred towards him and his hair. I didn't know which songs were his, except when I heard Baaaaby Baaaaby, then I knew it was him lol. But I was like, uuuuh why do these guys want to be like him?
Bad Glee. Bad.
Seriously, I was looking forward to Glee on tuesday, too bad that episode sucked. Adding Beiber to the mix made it worse.
Frankly I don't care what his opinion on abortion is, he's a kid, WHY would they even ask him that? He's not a lady, he can't get knocked up. And saying rape babies happen for a reason is just infuriating.
I guess, like you guys said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Although I would never get an abortion (unless maybe I was rapped) I think every woman has a right to make a choice for her own body. Although I have heard a few stories where woman basically use it as a form of birth control. That's pretty terrible.
I'm usually so proud of Canadian artists. Not this one.

TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermWell, he's not so much an artist, if that helps. And RS corrected the quote, so it actually reads: "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."
I blame Rolling Stone for asking him a "gotcha" question in an effort to prove that they're sooo above this dopey kid they're forced to feature in order to sell magazines. Teenage girls do not care what he thinks about abortion, or politics, or whatever other "topical" questions they asked him. And I blame his handlers for a) letting the question get asked and b) not prepping him better for interviews. He's a dopey kid, no doubt, but it sounds like he was just trying to play the middle ground and babbling on any controversial subjects. Of course, there IS no middle ground with rape.
And those will be the last words I ever speak in support (or "support") of Justin Bieber.
A few things that are soooo wrong with this.
1. Should they really be asking a 16 year old male pop star about his take on abortion? I mean, really, couldn't that kind of discussion wait until he's *legally* old enough to have sex?
2. His response, even if taken slightly out of context, is offensive. I totally agree - he can't get pregnant, if he was raped he wouldn't be risking pregnancy. I don't think it's within his rights to say what women should and shouldn't do with their bodies. I also don't think the government should, either.
3. I personally grate at the"everything happens for a reason" response people sometimes give - if some horrible thing just happened, telling me it happened for a reason switches a flip in my head that says "this person is insensitive, unoriginal, and generally unsupportive, and is not clue into what I'm going through."
sheesh.
