Cradle cap and olive oil?
Anyone done this? L has had cradle cap since forever and it has never really bothered her so we left it alone. Recently though she has started really itching at her head so we need to try and get her some relief. Friends have recommended putting olive oil on her head and the combing her hair. Has anyone ever done this, if so how exactly did you do it?? Any other ideas on how to get some of it off??

Re: Cradle cap and olive oil?
I almost did, but didn't. I've seen people on the EFF board have success with it though.
I found that just washing G's hair 2x helped a ton to get rid of most of it, although she had until 7 or 8 months I think. On both washes I really gently rubbed and massaged the shampoo into her head so it was a thorough washing.
It worked with ben. I rubbed olive oil onto his scalp, left it on there for a while, and once overnight I think, then washed it out 2-3x.
With Maddy it suddenly appeared and disappeared, and hers just needed some extra brushing to make it go away.
Good luck!

i tried it, but using a teeny bit of dandruff shampoo and a really soft toothbrush worked better.
the olive oil should work, but you'll have to wash her hair a few extra times so it isn't greesy.
Thanks ladies! We ended up using baby oil (only because DH didnt want to use the good olive oil..lol) and one of the super soft toothbrushes and fine tooth combs and we got a good deal out it. The only downside is that we washed her hair 3 times and its still oily. BUT her scalp looks so much better!
Thanks again!
