XP: FB Closing Down March 15?

ETA: Nevermind, I guess I was just feeling gullible this morning since I hadn't had my coffee yet. but I don't want to DD, so read on if interested:

I received this FB message from a friend...think this is really or a hoax? ETA: I'm thinking it's not legit considering there are spelling/grammar errors?

Facebook is suppose to be closing down March 15 in is recently becoming very overpopulated. There have been many members complaining that Facebook is becoming very slow. Records show that the reason is that there are many active Facebook members and, on the other side, many new Facebook members.
We will be sending this message around to see if members are active or not. If you are active please send to at least 15 other users using Copy+Paste to show that you are still active. *Those who do not send this message within 2 weeks will be deleted without hesitation to create more space.*
Send this message to all your friends and to show me that your still active and you will not be deleted.

These go around every few months. Definitly a hoax. I think you can find a facebook blog or somethign to follow if you want real news from them.

No, sounds totally bogus to me. Marky Mark doesn't need me to forward a message for him to know if I'm active. He would write some crazy algorithm and press a magic button. If it were true, we would have heard more about it.

Okay, agreed. I just woke up to like 5 messages identical to above!

I checked w/my handy-dandy snopes.com and it does appear to be false.

Facebook is a vastly popular site. If it were closing down, news anchors all over the world would be all over it. I doubt Mark would send out something in a status message - it'd be more like an email, or a word to the press saying he's pulling it, and I doubt there's be misspellings and grammatical errors - if he can afford to pay his employees, he can afford a spell checker. : )

Didn't receive the e-mail/message, but definitely agree it's a hoax - Facebook is finally profitable (it wasn't until 2009, I believe), so there's no way that they'd be shutting it down at this point. Also, if it was true as PP said we'd be seeing news coverage by every news agency.
