tresemme dry shampoo

i just tried it and i actually thought it worked pretty well. maybe my expectations were low because blonde and anne tried it and didn't think it was all that great.

i washed my hair yesterday morning and let it air dry, and put it in a pony tail. so it wasn't "styled" yesterday. not sure if that makes a difference.

my main complaint the day after i wash my hair is that the very top front gets a little greasy. the first time i applied it i must not have gotten enough on that spot because i didn't see any improvement. but when i applied it the second time and focused on that area it did the trick. it does turn your hair a nice shade of grey so after you spray it on you have to wait a couple minutes and then brush your hair. i don't notice any filmy feel on my hair. the greasy area is totally gone, though which was my main goal.

the smell however is pretty strong. especially after you start spraying. it's sort of an odd scent, too.

  • I just posted on your post from the other day...

"I'm reporting back... I used it again this morning and it is official... I do not like it at all !  It makes your hair feel like it hasn't been washed for like a week... gets really thick and weird feeling too it and it makes it REALLY hard to work with your hair.  I ended up saying F it this morning and pulling it back... and I NEVER pull my hair back."

Glad you had a good experience with it :-)

oh...hahahaha. yeah i think it's probably the fact that i plan to wear it up. i don't know if i'd want to wear it down, but it didn't start out acceptably styled yesterday to wear down anyway. it's probably okay if you want to vanish a grease spot and wear it up, but if you're expecting to wear it down and styled and looking freshly washed, then no.

  • I only wash my hair every other day, and because my hair is used to that cycle, it doesn't get greasy on the 2nd day.  (When I used to wash it everyday and then try and skip one day, it got realllly bad on those days).

My trick on the in-between days is to use face powder (other people use baby powder but since I have dark hair, I use a tan colored powder so it blends in better) in my hair.  I sprinkle it in the part and along my face.  It helps soak up any oil and powder can be really great to help style your hair.

I try and wash my hair only 3x per week, but I'd love to cut back to 2 and use dry shampoo one of the other days.

  • Am I the only person whose hair literally looks wet with greasyness on the 2nd day? I wish I could go 2 days.

I use to be that way. Then when I got the kertain treatment done last year I tried really hard to only wash my hair every other day. It was awful at first but got better with time. Every now and then I am super lucky and can ull a third day if I'm not doing anything special.

MD- How does your hair feel now that its later in the day?

  • I've used dry shampoo before, and always had good results. My hair is short, and I go 2 days in between.. When my hair was long (think hip length.. such a shock from my current pixie lol) I used to wash it once a week. The baby powder thing is the way to go if you only have that one problem spot. If you don't like the scent of baby power, loose face powder is good, as is corn starch.
