Help me find my next digital camera
I have been looking for a new digital camera for about 6 months and although I have been looking I cannot seem to narrow my choices down. I want to find a good quality camera that will last for a long time. Any suggestions ladies?
Re: Help me find my next digital camera
I always suggest Canons no matter what.
What kind of camera were you looking for? Point and shoot? SLR?
Lots of money? Less than $200?
I prefer Canon or Sony Cybershot. DH has a small canon and it takes great pics. I have a Cybershot and it's pretty good. I got it as a Christmas gift the year we were engaged (thoughtful parent gift:O) but I will say that I don't like that Sony's require a special type of memory stick and not the standard SD-card. At first it didn't seem that bad, just buy a new stick (which was annoying since I have several SDs) but now also annoying when I go to upload pics. Our computer has an SD-card port so all DH has to do is put the memory card in, but for my camera I either have to use a card reader or plug in the computer.
Personally, I don't like Kodak or Casio Exlim cameras. I've had both. Kodak's I tend to think are bulkier (although maybe it's just in the past) and I hate Kodak software (although you dont' have to use it, it's the default initially I believe).
Casio Exlim, I originally loved. The reviews on line said that the viewing screen sometimes appears grainy but still produces clear pics but otherwise is good. I found that to be true. However, in the middle of a vacay to NYC, I was taking pics and all of a sudden the screen went black and white fuzzy. I couldn't get the lens to contract (right word?) and it was just out of warranty. To send it in would have cost $50 just for them to look at it (them being Casio), so I decided it wasn't worth my money.
GL!

ok for a point and shoot I suggest the Canon Powershot SD1400 This link goes to amazon, but really you can pick this camera up just about anywhere. I think there's a few ladies on here that got this one.
Its 14.1 MP (unnecessary unless you like printing billboards, but still super sexy). 4x optical zoom, and it has a 2.7" screen. I love these little guys for just my basic camera.
An awesome new SLR would be this one I've been wanting to swap out my Canon Rebel X for either that one, but I've been drooling over this one for a while now.
