I am finally working again. I am doing private home health care on the weekends. I'm still applying for something with more hours, but I'm happy for now. It's better than nothing!!!
Re: Working Woman!
Awesome....glad you could find something, even if it is just a little something for right now.
Have you looked at any hospitals to see if there were any positions you qualify for with your training so far..it would be cool if you could get in to one and then when you finish your degree you could get an in house job...usually better chances of a better shift.
I am sure you have already heard this and probably have tried, but I thought I would ask too.

GL Mamma!
And boooooooo to you moving to Columbus (for purely selfish reasons), lol!! But I suppose it will just give me one more person to visit there.
That's awesome! Hey everyone has to start somewhere right? One of Dh's friends started in a nursing home for 6 months before getting a job in a hospital.
I know with Tim's residency program (promedica), they never went external for hires. All the new RN's in that program had to work already for promedica and Tim knows a couple people who applied but didn't get hired for the program. it's hyper competitive.
I do know that some of his classmates were aids on the floors there. Maybe something will open up once the program starts. (march 1st)
I know they are hiring at the Heart Center at St V's. A bunch of people from Tim's class got jobs there and I know they are still hiring.
My SIL is an RN at OSU too!
I've heard some sketch stuff about UTMC. Timot had a margarita date yesterday with a bunch of fmr classmates and they were talking about who ahs a job and who doesn't and they we all saying they had all heard bad things about working (as an RN mind you) for UTMC. I know a job is a job but...shudder.
You should also try for an extern position at V's. Timot's good friend was hired in there i think he made around 14-18 but I can't remember but it was really good because he was able to meet all the hiring managers and stuff. (now I know you said you were moving but a good recommendation from a major hospital system helps!)
(edited to add: I just looked at the website and there are at least 5 or 6 extern positions open right now. Some of them are internal BUT the same person that hires for the internal hires for the external.
BTW are you getting insurance? Timot is thinking about it. Apparently for new grads it's 50% off the first year and then 25% the second. My stepmom had said that she doesn't carry it the hospital does but all timots teachers have said what if someone goes after you personally for damages and the hospital cuts you loose.
I was looking at the site earlier too and will apply for one of the assistant jobs so maybe I can get an in. I'm not sure why I never thought to check the Mercy site before ... oops!! I'm just so used to dealing with Promedica I guess.
Some of my classmates are NAs at UTMC and that's why I applied there. They all seem to like it but like I said they aren't RNs.
I will most likely get insurance. I'd rather be safe than sorry!!
