Help me make a list

My brain is fried right now and I need to make a list of things we will need to keep out of storage while we are looking for a home (6-8weeks). What do I need to have the movers keep seperate?

I have clothes, pack and play, toys.... Then nothing! Haha I need sleep!!!!

Re: Help me make a list

  • Towels and other bathroom items.

If I have to make a list like that, I tend to think through my day (or during the day walk around with a notepad), and list the things I use to do the stuff I do every day.

For example, I get up in the morning, turn off my alarm clock, make the bed, brush my teeth, get in the shower.  From that, I would write down:

    alarm clock

    sheets

    toothbrush/toothpaste (mouthwash, floss, etc)

    towels

    toiletries

Does that make sense?  I know it sounds tedious, but it's a good way to make sure you don't miss something.

And I think you said you're staying in corporate housing, so does that come equipped with the basics, like sheets, towels, basic kitchen things, etc?  Or are you totally on your own?

    That's what I was thinking!!!

Don't underestimate the amount of clothes you will need. I only packed a suitcase with a week and a half's worth of work clothes when we stayed with DH's parents and we ended up there for 6 weeks....I got REAL tired of those clothes, fast.

Thanks! Meghann, that's probably what I need to do. The apt. is completly furnished so I don't need to pack towels, sheets, pot and pans, ect. So that's nice. I think I'm just going to pack all of our winter clothes and a good amount of comfy clothes in those big plastic storage things and have the movers drop it off before they take the rest of the stuff to storage. That way I only have to pack about a weeks worth of stuff for all of us to fly with and everything else will meet us there within 10 days. I think we are going to box up some of Brock's toys and his highchair and send them to the in laws so they are there when we get there. I think we might try to borrow a PNP and high chair from someone up there to use until the movers get there to do the drop off so we dont have to fly with or ship it there. I think figuring out the logistics is going to be the hardest part.

  • Meghann stole my ideas, so I don't have anything to add. Stick out tongue

That sounds like a great plan.
