painting is SUCH a sore subject in my house right now haha.
we have the colors picked, yes.
we havent painted yet because hunting season isnt over yet. but andy doesnt want me to help him paint and he wants to paint on a "leisurely" schedule. so according to this timeline i literally will be lucky if the whole house is done by Christmas. granted, we do need to do trim, ceilings, doors, and walls in all but two rooms. STILL. its only ~1650 sq ft house. it really doesnt need to take 8 months haha.
i considered hiring a painter while we were on vacation to come in and do everything and i wasnt going to tell andy. i was going to bat my eyes and say SURPRISE. but i broached the subject of hiring someone and he said, "its not up for discussion. absolutely not. i will do it. alone. on my time."
so...haha.
i just want it done. now.
Hahaha oh no! He sounds really adamant! Why wouldn't he want help?! Sheesh, that's a big job to do alone!
I don't blame you for wanting it done asap! Once I have the can of paint, there's really no putting the brakes on the project!

he doesnt want me to hire someone because he says its a huge waste of money for something you can easily do yourself. which i agree, but i also think its worth the money for him to not be stressed/a PITA about it.
he doesnt want me to help because i am (admittedly) terrible at painting and he is SUPER anal about painting. this is also why he doesnt want anyone else to do it but him.
i want it done because i dont want our house to look like sh!t for a year but i also want it done in a timely manner because practically everything is connected so i think its going to be dumb to start and stop.
Ohhh I see what he means. But I understand your reasoning too! I'd hate to have my house unfinished for such a long (and unknown) amount of time! Sometimes the extra money IS worth your time and sanity!
Maybe you can ask him to make small goals...after hunting season is officially over, of course! Like one weekend, make it a goal to get the ceilings done, the next free weekend can be the trim, etc.

yea in this case i feel like the money is worth it. but he doesnt, so there isnt anything i can really do about it.
i asked him about goals and he was like, "we'll see". he has a "plan" on how he wants to do things.
our spare bedroom is pink and purple with princess trim. he is going to start with that, which i said, "thats kind of the last thing that needs done IMO. its not like we have guests often" and he was like, "i need to do it this way to get into the painting groove." oooookay.
Lol oh goodness. It always scares me when husbands "have a plan"!
Well it sounds like you have your hands full! I wish you the best of luck:) Who knows, maybe he'll really get into the "painting groove" and finish up quickly!

haha andy is pretty handy so when he has a plan it *normally* isnt so bad.
although last night he decided he is going to put an archway in the kitchen while he is painting. im hoping that part of the plan falls by the wayside haha.
hunting is over this weekend so hopefully we have movement soon haha. we just bought a new dining room table that is supposed to be delivered in ~7wks so i would like for the whole downstairs to be done when it gets there. im highly doubting it will happen though.
